The theater was perhaps 1/4 full. I think there were a few costume changes this time. No "scenery"changes, however. Are they still insisting on amplifying the singers? It is so unnecessary in such a small venue and does the poor singers no favors at all. I've complained about this in the past and was told that they would reconsider... <g> I'm envious of your excursion through time and space to Trafalgar Falls! Rare spinnaker2 Posted February 20, 2019 #55 Share Posted February 20, 2019 Bob Weather here in South Florida windy and dreary. Hope it's better further south! We will wave to you as we fly into San Juan. Keep enjoying!

We, too, have traveled much further afield in St Lucia for a beach not nearly as nice. We read of this beach on the St Lucia board. Some more info on Vivgie Beach - the cab ride was $5 per person each way. The cost for us to get 5 chairs and 2 umbrellas was (if memory serves, it was yesterday after all) was $55. There are plenty of food vendors. Restrooms cost $1,but a mere few steps away is the airport building with free clean restrooms. Non aggressive vendors. A very pleasant experience. 18 hours ago, jpalbny said: What a fun trip for you and your family! It's a pleasure to see how much you are enjoying yourselves. Hope the rest of it is just as fun. Thank you jpalbny, all 6 of us are having fun, but one of us is having the time of his little life! 8 hours ago, pf778c said: Are they still insisting on amplifying the singers? Rare boblerm Posted February 20, 2019 Author #57 Share Posted February 20, 2019 Seishin is a reservation only premium restaurant for dinner, and reservations need to be made several eons ahead, as it is very small, same size as la Dame. For lunch it is walk in, no fee, but sushi and sashimi only. We went for lunch yesterday, I am not a sushi expert, my kids are, and said it was -"good"
Rare boblerm Posted February 20, 2019 Author #58 Share Posted February 20, 2019 (edited) Name that tune in Dolce Vita last night, I am embarrassed to say that we only got a score of 34 out of 40.(20 questions, 1 point for song, 1 for artist). The winner got 37. I knew all of the tunes, but my brain is not fast enough to name them in time. Cruise Director Rico gave Noah a prize anyway. Rare boblerm Posted February 20, 2019 Author #59 Share Posted February 20, 2019 Sailaway from St Lucia Dinner last night at the Grille, another unique experience. It is al fresco dining on the pool deck, and you get put to work cooking your own meal on hot rocks. Ceasar salad and Spicy Mexican Sweetcorn & Avocado Street Salad (mega hot) Better safe than sorry. I am pleased to say that I cooked my steak perfectly, but don't tell Jeannie, or I may have to start pulling kitchen duty. A bonus- Claudette entertained. Another winner of a meal. The show last night was one of the singers doing a solo cabaret show. We babysat so the kids could go, they say that she sang well.
Rare boblerm Posted February 20, 2019 Author #60 Share Posted February 20, 2019 Today we are in Antigua. We found an absolute hidden gem here. I am reluctant to spread the word about this place, as it is so wonderful and peaceful, and I fear that if word gets around it may become crowded and less pleasant. But since we are friends, I will clue you in, but please DON'T TELL ANYONE! 😁 It is called Beach Limerz, I learned about it on the Cruise Critic Antigua board. I emailed the owner, a very nice lady named Gail. She arranged, (no extra charge) a taxi to meet us at the pier at an appointed time and drive us back. The fares are fixed by the govt. at $5 per person each way. You have to give a deposit for the use of chairs and umbrellas (reasonabe charges). Good food, too. It was, how shall I say it? Great. I would call this the quintessentially perfect Caribbean beach day.

Rare RachelG Posted February 21, 2019 #64 Share Posted February 21, 2019 That beach looks fabulous. When our boys were the age of your grandson, we went on a lot of beach vacations. I would let them eat sand and dig around. They loved it and still remember.
Rare boblerm Posted February 21, 2019 Author #65 Share Posted February 21, 2019 (edited) Last night was date night for Amy and Chris at la Dame, they truly did love it. Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Jason accompanied Noah to La Terazza. No pics as the four of us spent the evening engrossed in scintillating conversation. Today we are anchored off Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands. This morning the 3 big kids went to The Baths. But Noah took good care of us. Rare boblerm Posted February 22, 2019 Author #71 Share Posted February 22, 2019 Unibok, Lois R, and Tothesunset, thank you so much for your kind words. We had our final dinner last night in Atlantide, and were pleased that the menu had changed up somewhat, with some items that were not available on our fist visit. Tsar cut Baltic Salmon Beef and Caviar Tartare Signature Lobster Salad Roasted Barbary Duck Salad Chilean Sea Bass Grilled Lobster Tail French Limousin Cot a'lOs (I am not kidding, they actually call it that 😊) Another very enjoyable meal. We are in the airport lounge right now, just found out our flight has been delayed an hour, of course, that’s just for starters. Our experience with Jet Blue is that once the delays start, they just keep on coming. We'll see. Within the next few days I will post a summary and complete review of this cruise, including the great, the near great, and the not- quite - so- great. Rare boblerm Posted February 22, 2019 Author #72 Share Posted February 22, 2019 Right after I wrote this, I received a message that our 1:35 flight that was delayed until 2:40 is now delivered until 8:40. I will adopt the philosophy from the sign in Beachlimerz bar My wife met Spinnaker 2 in the rest room! Have a great cruise!
