If I want to pay off my cruise bill with cash is that possible and what do I need to do?  Happy to put cc down for embarkation.

Go to Passenger Services on the ship and I believe you can pay them with cash.

A few cruises back I won some money at a casino on our way to embark on a cruise. When I got to the ship I went to the purser desk and put that cash on my cruise account. We didn't use all of it on our cruise and then got a refund check in the mail.

Wait until the night before you disembark, go to Customer Service and pay your account off.  You can tell them at that time to close your SS card account.  We do this all the time, just bring enough cash with you to do it.

If you do not want to even give Princess your credit card number:

a) You do have to give them a credit card number to complete the online check-in process, but you can then delete the number.

b) When checking in at the port, tell the check-in person that you will be using cash for onboard charges,

c) Once on board, go to the Customer Service desk and give them the deposit they will need or give them what you think will cover all of your on board charges. If you do not go to the desk to do this, you will be called or paged to go there and do it.

d) If during the trip your deposit is all used up, you will get a call (or page) to come top the desk and give them more cash.

The ships that have come into Seattle the past few years have had those people who desire to use cash to make a $300 minimum cash deposit at Passenger Services on board the ship. One of the ships is different this year so if it varies between the ships as to the amount required to be deposited then it may change this year for that ship, the Star.  Just a bit of info for you.
