Just to be clear, THERE IS LINKING!

To profess that one NEEDn't  link cruises is just plain wrong and perpetuating a falsehood.

 Jeesh...

:classic_wink:

Yes, indeed there is linking, as Carnival explained to me when I called them. I’m all set!

A virgin Mimosa is OJ, period. There is no soda water in a Mimosa

Ingredients: 2 1/2 oz (1 part) Orange juice, 2 1/2 oz (1 part) Champagne

Well, I'm assuming they want the soda to replace the sparkling wine to make it like a mock mimosa. I honestly don't care what kind of drink they want, nor do I really want to argue semantics, I was merely pointing out they will have the ingredients readily available to make it and I assume they will accommodate the request since it's reasonable.

Have you ever had a smoothie? There is fresh fruit, yogurt, it's not an icy slush. A strawberry Daiquiri is not a smoothie by any stretch of the imagination. Again being in the service business, Google Daquiri, Rum, lime juice, simple syrup, ice and blend.

No bartender on any Carnival ship I have been on has ever put lime juice or simple syrup in a daiquiri they have made for me.  It has always been ice, fruit flavored juice, and rum.  I said a Carnival daiquiri was a smoothie because it was the consistency of a smoothie.  It was smoother than any slushie I have had.  Any daiquiri I have had on land was the consistency of a slushie.

I order a Carnival peach smoothie on every cruise.  They make it the same way as their daiquiris.  They just leave out the rum.

Champagne is sparkling.  Sprite is sparkling.  Sprite replaces Champagne in a virgin mimosa.

I'm also sorry for this getting off-topic.  I just wanted to know if Carnival had an option for B2B cruisers who don't drink most forms of alcohol.  Other people got hung up on my reason why I rarely drink alcohol.  I just wanted to give context.

Did they also have virgin mimosas?  The only alcoholic drink I can tolerate is a daiquiri.  Everything else is disgusting to me.

We were offered ginger ale as a non alcoholic drink on the Glory a bout six weeks ago.  On the magic they had pineapple juice a year ago.

That’s ok. We really don’t drink much alcohol, either. I have very poor alcohol tolerance, so any drink has to be followed by hours of no alcohol and water to hydrate. After having that mimosa, it will be late afternoon before I have another cocktail. And that’s drinking more than I’d ever do when home. I’m a one glass of wine in the evening kind of gal. 🍷😉

I was told to call carnival when we did our B2B and link the bookings. I then called Carnival and spoke with customer service AND SHE LINKED OUR BOOKINGS. When we got on ship and spoke with our cabin attendant, he already knew we would be on for 2 cruises.

You did the right thing.  Linking the bookings is required.  LostPuppy is just plain wrong and perpetuating a falsehood, to use his own eloquent and oh-so-ironic words.:classic_rolleyes:

I agree, as it was confirmed by Carnival when I called, that the two cruises needed to be linked. LostPuppy is incorrect.

we never linked and were not kicked off the ship. The steward definitely knew we were B2B.

It doesn't say mandatory, but it does state it is "extremely important"

We have done several b2bs.  Our experiences have been similar on each but not always exactly the same.  We did do one on the Magic last fall.  Met in dining room.  Escorted off the ship.  Went through customs.  Escorted  back on the ship. Had group photo taken and were offered drinks in the atrium, then had the run of the ship for maybe an hour.  Timing is very unpredictable.  Sometimes the wait is not long at all and sometimes it can take quite some time.

B2bs are great.  Hope you have a wonderful voyage.  We will be doing one a month after you again on the Magic.

Thank you! I’m super excited about it, but waiting will be tough. Although we have plenty of other adventures from now until then.....a train trip to visit our daughter and her family in North Dakota, a family gathering here with our son and his family coming home from Texas to celebrate with the rest of family for my hubby’s 70th birthday, a Fall trip to the Adirondacks, then the holidays. So, hopefully the year will go by fast with a lot of fun throughout! 😊

That is common knowledge

Thank you for your helpful comment. Especially when the body of her(jacinta) response clearly shows that there is a STANDARD of a free drink, as well as a free photo in response to your saying there was no standard, blah blah blah. Also, the op thanked me because she didn’t know about the second bottle, and was going to ask. But go back to yelling at kids for being too loud(a figurative expression showing the extent of your negativity)

Your attempt to twist my words into something I did not say is obvious and is not going to work.  Anyone with even basic reading comprehension skills can see I said:  linking the bookings is required (to ensure the sailings are treated as BTB), and that I never said (any action by the PAX) is mandatory, and that those are two very different things.

The bookings might already be automatically linked with no effort made by the PAX, depending on how/ when/ with whom the cruises were booked, or any number of other factors of which neither I nor you can be certain, since we aren't privy to the inner workings of the Carnival booking computer system and Carnival employee booking procedures.

Your sailings were indeed linked, which is required for you to have gotten the proper BTB treatment.  In your case, Carnival linked them without any effort made on your part.  That happens.  It also sometimes happens, for whatever reason, that they don't get automatically linked, thus my (and others') advice to take matters into one's own hands and make sure one's bookings are linked to avoid any resulting SNAFU of them not being so.  It's a strong suggestion.  Not mandatory, though.  Take your chances if you want.  Either way, you won't be "kicked off the ship".🙄  Nice touch of dramatic exaggeration there, though, to top off your post based on the ambiguity fallacy.🤣

Btw— found out that bookings can’t be linked if there are three b2bs; b3b. Carnival DD and our PVP haven’t been able to do this. Only first two are linked. When we do more than two, we do check in with GS to see that our credit card info is carried over for subsequent legs. Many times it is not.

Huh, that's weird.  And it's helpful to know, thanks!

There is no standard.  It is up to the Hotel Director on each ship, each sailing.  John i.e., Jacinta is wrong as usual.  They frequently contradict   posted Carnival policy and neither are the boss of any ship Hotel Director.  None of my B2Bs offered photos or a free drink but did include a bottle of champs.
