First time as Azamara cruiser long time celebrity cruiser discover level going on our first Azamara cruise tomorrow.  Buenos Aries RT 17 nights for our first SA cruise. Upgrade offer from Balcony Plus to Continental Suite accepted two days ago $450 each. Done deal…$50/day you betcha!!

Thanks for this tread I wouldn’t have thought a low bid ($40 more than min) would secure the upgrade Whoohoo!

Sailing on Onward Miami to Lima 27/1/23. We are travelling with my sister and brother in law and we both booked verandah cabins (deck 6). We were 'invited' to bid for Club Continent Suites. We both put in bids of a fraction over $300 and we have both got the upgrades! Most excited and surprised. We are Adventurer grade and they are Discoverer grade.

I just got an email inviting me to bid on an upgrade from my veranda cabin on my 3/7 sailing. It gave me the opportunity to bid on everything above that grade. When I went to do a mock booking, it shows everything except OV sold out. What gives?

Yes, we got an upgrade bid invitation too, yet no suites or veranda cabins available. Very strange - unless they’ve kept some back, or maybe some cabins went out to specialist TAs who haven’t sold them.

The last transatlantic we did, there were a lot of passengers who had got a really cheap last minute deal through a cruise specialist company.

I’m torn on what to do. The minimum bids are pretty low!

We made a low bid.

I think we’re going to pass. We have a veranda that we are happy with and just wouldn’t want to risk being placed in an undesirable location in a CC. And frankly, the free specialty dining isn’t *that* great of a draw for us, as most of the time we are perfectly happy in Discoveries.

Good Afternoon Y'all

We received an offer to upgrade.

We are on the Journey 9 Night March 25 Lisbon to Barcelona April 3 2023 V2 Discover Level.

The upgrade minimums are

CVP 110.00, pp

CCS 420.00 pp,

CSS 2100.00, pp

COS 2530.00, pp

CWOS 2820.00 ,pp

Does these minimums  sound high? Can you bid less than the minimum?  I am also not clear if you would receive the OBC that is offered in the description. Any suggestion

Give a shout out if you are on this cruise.

Thanks everyone!

We are on Onward March 11. We received an upgrade offer email today.

I am staggered at what they are asking. We are in a CC suite currently.

Remember that each of those cabins comes with $600 OBC, so they aren’t quite as high as they look.

The top suites certainly look high to me, but this should make @txprin feel better about their offers.

Can. Anyone tell me if you can change cabins once on the ship? I am reluctant to bid for an upgrade as I particularly want to stay on the starboard side. I realise you can’t have a say on where your cabin will be with the bidding process. Thank you

The Veranda Plus and CC Suite minimums look reasonable, given that you get extras in those cabins (Wifi, speciality dining etc), but the rest look pretty high.

I’ve added this to the spreadsheet. Don’t forget to come back & let us know which, if any, bids you make and what the outcome is.

Good luck!

Unlikely as when you apply for an upgrade you tick Ts & Cs saying you can’t.

If you look at the spreadsheet these are a lot less than others have been offered in the past.

You are unlikely to be able to change an upgrade bid cabin even for more significant reasons such as not being able to climb over the tub for a shower. So very unlikely for a more “personal preference” of port v starboard.

They do not do cabin change sales day one but may offer upgrades for a price on day 2 where you would know the cabins being offered. However on some sailings even if they have availability they do not offer this.

That’s why it’s best to book what you know you want from the outset

Have anyone received an email offering them a bid on an upgrade on Journey, West Africa, Capetown to Lisbon on March 4th?

Hi, I haven’t received an offer, but looking at availability it seems to be very low (4 CC/ 3 balcony) and  not in good locations. Even if I get an offer I think I’ll stick with my cabin.

As an aside, having received email offering ( imo, expensive upgrade offers), is there ever a subsequent email offering upgrades at a lower cost if the uptake is low?

my December cruise the original 'from' price was £370 on 22nd September invite

on the reminder on 12th November it was £350 then on 1st December it was £330

However I thought this was more likely to be related to currency fluctuation from US$ than a reduction.

I’ve been wondering the same thing. I’ve received an offer to bid on the following cruise (25 Mar 2023), but not the 4 Mar 2023 one. According to the website, there are a few cabins available in every category except Spa suites. If they upgrade someone to, let’s say, an Owner’s suite, that creates vacancies further down.
