I pad Bingo

On my last cruise they had I pad Bingo at $59 per session. You got about 30 cards in included. Those playing one or two paper cards had little chance of winning. The last day I pads were sold out in the morning for the afternoon game so we did not play. I am not a fan. The I pad displays the number before it is called so there isn’t much fun anymore . Must be a huge money maker for Princess. Doubt I will play anymore which is too bad since it used to be one of my favorite things to do on the ship.

Few people play until the last day, so if you are going to play I would play the first day before people become aware of the times. Buy the I pad. Maybe play the morning game on the last day but forget trying to win the huge pot in the afternoon. Little chance.

Dumb question since I've never seen bingo without the balls or anything.   Is there any fun in watching?   Or is that fun gone too?   I often play but $60 is a bit rich for me.   If no one is playing, then I can't imagine the pot to be too large and if too many people are playing, then the likelihood of winning gets a bit too low.

Not a spectator sport. The pots in the early days seem the same as when more are playing later in the cruise, with the exception of he big pot. Usually start around $100 then $125 and $175.   One guy won twice on the early games with 1 I pad. To diminish your chances of winning they offer Xtra I pad for the last game at an additional cost. Many bought them. So it isn’t fair. You bought 1 I pad considering you had 30 games per call and now some guy buys two mor I pads, wins the money and you lose. he probably paid more to play than he won. Something is broken here.

I just got off the Royal Princess this morning and love the iPads for bingo.   We have used them the past 3 years on different cruise lines.   On our cruise last week,  there was a good mix of people winning on paper and iPads.  $59 is a lot cheaper than Royal Caribbean for their bingo iPads.  I actually won four games throughout our cruise. I never win, so it was a nice surprise. I agree the last session is the worst. So many people show up trying to win the final bingo.  In our last game yesterday, there were 3 or 4 bingo winners on every game.

My issue are the bad odds used for pay outs on cruise ships. Everything from slot machines on up use skewed odds so the contracting casino operator makes profits in the double digits. Vegas slots odds payout odds higher than 90% BY LAW. Cruise ships under foreign flag registry are bound by ZERO law.

So all the ships now have the ipads? And $59 a day to play?  I love playing bingo, but $59 each day? How many games a day do they play?

Just got off the Sapphire and they had the tablets as well as paper. A paper six-pack was $30 IIRC and a set of three for the cover-all only was $10. You could also purchase singles and triples but I don't remember the prices.

Tablets at $59 had 30 cards for each game. There's a less expensive tablet with I think only 15 cards per game at $45.

There are four games per BINGO session.
