I did the same for my husband - our 35th anniversary/60th birthdays on the Summit next week.  We have a standard veranda but I max bid on/would LOVE to surprise him with a family veranda!  A Navy veteran he will sit for hours on the veranda (I'll wake up in the middle of the night and find him there) and listen to/watch the ocean.

Cool.  I booked a sv on the beyond for November, so I think we are good.  To upgrade to a suite is just too much imo

Now all my bids are back to pending. They were all expired except 1. Must be a lot of cancellations because of the itinerary change.

We probably will never cruise in a suite again.....we've opened that can of worms before! 🤣🤣🤣  It's hard (speaking for us) to go back.  
I did a mock booking for our cruise and all the SV's are booked.  If we get one, great.  We are still less than what I could have booked it for.  We've cruised on the Edge and I'm just not much on the Infinite Veranda.  It reminds me of my grandfather's Ford Galaxie wagon when he put the window down in the back.  I don't knock people if they like it, but I just prefer a regular balcony.

General Comments In my experience, when all but one goes expired, and one is pending, you end up with the one that stays pending. Sailing is 9 days out. There's still an iconic available on celebrity website for $50,000.00, so getting it for $14,000 after getting a comped Celebrity Suite from casino would be a steal, i basically just put the minimum bid in on it thinking there's no way..but we'll see!

That's what I'm thinking.  I bet they're playing the domino game: suite open - upgrade veranda guest to it - upgrade ocean view to that now available veranda - etc.  Which is why it's taking a while.  There's part of me that understands people's frustration and choice to cancel - we pay good money for these vacations with an expectation of xyz.  However, there's the part of me that looks at this as "first world problems." All of it is just an inconvenience and I'm thankful to be able to get away for 11 days, be waited on/pampered, and to just relax/rest with my husband!!  The ships meet all of our needs so if we don't want to deal with the tendering/crowds one day, then we'll just stay on the ship/sit by the pool/have a good time!

I agree! To me, the vacation is the ship. I fortunately have been to Bermuda quite a few times, I understand the first timers being disappointed. I just hope I’m negative on Tuesday!

If you go to the top of the website and go under manage reservation . There is a drop down for Move Up Upgrade. Go in as if you want to see if you’re eligible. Once you put in your name and reservation number, your bids will come up.

Likewise!!  I work outside of the home - around people.  My husband is currently at home on disability (recovering from a car accident in February).  We're both fully vaccinated and, while we are not mask wearers, we are mindful and wise.  Staying home this weekend for sure!!

I just got charged my bid for the iconic suite, which was the only one left pending. I think they do it like dominoes. Now that they've filled up my room, I bet they;ll fill up the Penthouse Suite, and then the Edge Villas, and work their way down.

My cruise is 6/2 and still all pending. The one that was originally pending was the Sky Suite. Now the Royal and the Celebrity Suite are pending also. I would really like the Royal Suite.🙂

We love the aft!  We haven't had one in quite some time-never on Celebrity as we have mostly sailed AQ or OV.  I'm hoping to get it, which is why I went the low side of a strong bid.  This is a dream cruise for us and we have spent more money on this trip (21 days in Europe) than we ever have in our lives, but every day is precious.  If it happens, it was meant to be....otherwise, we are both really just happy to be going! 🙂
