MSC Black at Miami Port

Hi everyone! First post here but I've been a long time lurker.

I recently completed a Status Match with MSC from Hilton Diamond and was lucky enough to be matched to MSC Black status. Apparently this comes with priority embarkation. Does anyone know if there is a specific location in Miami Port that we go to for this? Or is it simply a queue jump kinda thing?

Thanks!!

It is generally a queue jumping thing, however if there are a lot of black members it is not so much of an advantage. In my opinion some of the other perks are better, the chocolate ships are yummy.

I now have Black Card Status as well as a Yacht Club booking.

What to expect when embarking Meraviglia in Miami?

Leave your luggage at the Yacht Club tent to be tagged by the people there.  You will be escorted to security by a butler and then to the Yacht Club check in area.  Doesn't matter if you are Black.  That will get you other things on the ship, but go with the Yacht Club boarding experience.

Thanks for your response.  A bit more clarity for me, please.

I will be driving to the Port.  Arriving in the vicinity of the Pier, look for the Yacht Club tent?  Drop off the luggage then?  Go wherever in the Port to park the car?  Then, return to the Yacht Club tent for embarkation?

Yes.  My sister dropped me and the luggage off at the Yacht Club tent and then went to park the car at the garage which is down the road a bit.  If you're on your own, I'm sure you could leave your luggage with the people in the tent and tell them you'll be back after you park the car.

When we returned, we hired a porter to take us and the luggage to the car in the ramp.  Then you can directly exit the port.  Trying to go around to come back and pick up someone with luggage would be a mess with all the incoming traffic.

Thank you for this very helpful information!  Having only sailed once from Miami--in 1979--I have many concerns doing so in 2020.  I have found using Porter service when disembarking in Port Everglades and getting to my car in the Mid-Port Parking Garage to be very less stressful.  Your post encourages me to believe that I will be able to experience the same type of departure experience from Miami.

You're welcome.  This is what Cruise Critic is about--sharing helpful information with other cruisers.

If you haven't cruised from Miami since 1979, I believe the tunnel to the cruiseport is new.  Just follow the signs.

I much prefer sailing from Port Everglades as it is closer to me and there is a wonderful off port parking facility.  But apparently MSC will only be sailing from Miami.
