cpshaye Posted May 7, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 7, 2019 We are going with friends on a European cruise (Yay! First time there for all of us!) this September. How do we link our reservations so that we will 1) be seated together at dinner and 2) that we will be in the same group for our excursions? We've traveled with family before but we didn't need to link anything since we didn't do any ship excursions and we had anytime dining.
Rare mcatmcat Posted May 7, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2019 you need to call royal and tell them they will ask for their reservation number, last time I linked the reservation they wanted to talk to the people on the other reservation to approve it we were together that day so be ready to have someone else since they will like to speak to him/her. I have never linked excursions before so I dont know the process for that.
Rare brillohead Posted May 7, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 7, 2019 Everyone just needs to call Royal (if booked direct) or call your Travel Agent. Need the name and reservation number for each party.

For excursions I think you all just need to turn up at the allocated meeting point (stated on your excursion ticket) together - that way you get the same numbered sticker and will be put on the same coach, even if there are several coaches on the same excursion. Rare maysill88 Posted May 7, 2019 #7 Share Posted May 7, 2019 I linked our groups online using the "link missing cruise" link that shows up on the first page when I log into my Royal account. Needed reservation number, last name, and date of birth of the person who made the reservation.

mattR Posted May 29, 2019 #10 Share Posted May 29, 2019 I was told this wouldn't work if you all wanted to dine together? Has this changed or does every reservation need to call in with a list of the other reservation numbers still to be booked at the same tables? Best to have someone from every booking contact whoever booked their cruise and request linking with the other bookings.

We have 3 GS's, 1JS and 1CP balcony and I have the reservation numbers for all of the cabins. I also have the birthdates for all 11 of the people who are cruising with me. I simply followed the steps described by a previous poster. I now can see all of these reservations as they are all linked. Have linked reservations many times over the years. candiac Posted May 29, 2019 #13 Share Posted May 29, 2019 Hello, We are 7 members of the same family traveling together on Explorer in August. My daughter lives in London and we are meeting her and her husband. I linked the two reservations when I made the reservation and called the travel agent, a big box store, a couple of days later, in July 2018, to link the third reservation made by daughter. (I even have it marked in the agenda that "tick" it is done. I called last month to confirm - and the gal that answered said yes, I see the request in our files, made in July 2018 to link third cabin - but I don't think anyone ever called Royal to link it. Then when she did call Royal, the answer was - sorry the first two cabins have early seating - and the third cabin has late seating and there is no more room in dining room for early seating. Too bad, so sad!!!! AAAARRRGGGGH. Explanation I was given was tat cabin B can be linked to Cabin A, but Cabin C has to be linked to Cabin B, as they can only link one cabin at a time. We will wait and hope for the best on day of departure but frustrating situation when I am trying hard to be organized.
steveru621 Posted May 29, 2019 #14 Share Posted May 29, 2019 All reservations must have the same dining option to have RCI or a TA link reservations. RCI has told us, both (or all) parties must call to link traditional dining. It doesn't really matter for MTD. I need some clarification on linking them online. My experience is an online link is only for excursions booked through RCI.

Easy if you have names/birth dates/reservation number.
