Rare mking8288 Posted May 15, 2019 Author #76 Share Posted May 15, 2019 Freestyle Dailies for Day 5 and Extras Nothing about priority tendering for Platinum n higher tomorrow at Bar Habor. Port maps as FYI only, not an endorsement . WiFi info valid as of now, Cisco hardware & servers, mostly on 2.4 Ghz, seemed slow earlier after dinner but now normal satellite speed, usable. Make Google Voice & WhatsApp VoIP calls at sea again, worked just fine at HD quality. I see 5Ghz network SSiD & will try to connect to it again. Tomorrow, switching back to T-Mobile, leaving Telus & Google Fi on my 2 lines. Rare amygutman Posted May 15, 2019 #77 Share Posted May 15, 2019 Great information - Hubby and I loved the dailies...it's funny - NCL ships are (I think) wonderfully predictable in their daily offerings, but that's one of the things we love about cruising. Trivia? 👏 Canvas By U? 👏 Movies in the Atrium? 👏 Teppanyaki? 👏 Seeing the line-up in the dailies of the fun options and the photos is just awesome...thank you so much! dexddd Posted May 15, 2019 #78 Share Posted May 15, 2019 Land in sight. Teppanyaki always good except maybe sodium intake. Have a great day in Bar Harbor.
Rare mking8288 Posted May 15, 2019 Author #79 Share Posted May 15, 2019 Lobsters & lobster roll up the block, around the corner from the tender Pier, yummy good.
dexddd Posted May 15, 2019 #80 Share Posted May 15, 2019 (edited) Wow, that lunch looks good and I don't even eat lobster. Geddy Cam showing streets of Bar Harbor but not harbor itself. ETA: If you hadn't posted the menu I might have thought that was in O'Sheehans due to the little fry basket - oh wait, no more lobster on NCL, how could I forget. Rare mking8288 Posted May 15, 2019 Author #82 Share Posted May 15, 2019 @dexddd - we ordered 4 Shore Lobsters @ 1.25 lbs. each & 4 lobster rolls, all came with Fries ... light lunch to prep us for Moderno tonight. This place has free WiFi, fresh lobsters at pretty good prices and that lobster roll w fries, just $20, just walk uphill from the tender Pier & turn right, mid-block. It's a bit chilly, cold wind so anyone coming next, bindle up.

Rare mking8288 Posted May 15, 2019 Author #85 Share Posted May 15, 2019 We arrived at SJ earlier & CBP got on and started the face to face 30 minutes early, around 8 am and tenders started to run much sooner for NCL booked Shorex, keep in mind each lifeboat has a capacity of 100, for the 7 to 10 minutes shuttle ashore, loading & unloading is slow at times for safety reasons. We're not in a hurry & got off the by 10:45 while some groups heading to Acadia NP are still gathering. Heads up, those on Sprint & T-Mobile will likely find no to limited cell services here on land. That lobster lunch was great, $60 for 2 including tips ... We are going to get more in Portland tomorrow.
jaja Posted May 15, 2019 #86 Share Posted May 15, 2019 Thanks! I noted your restaurant for Bar Harbor (last time I did West Street Cafe) ..as I am solo..do they have bar seating and/or small tables? Need a recommendation for Portland to eat ..so anxious to see what you choose!!!
Rare mking8288 Posted May 16, 2019 Author #87 Share Posted May 16, 2019 @jaja - yes, they have small tables and some of the off duty crew also ate here. Moderno was good & fun tonight. Garden Cafe was pretty quiet tonight, spotted the AED mounted high up on the wall, next to hand wash station at the entrance. Too chilly for dipping into the pool. Satellite WiFi tonight is very slow, folks with plans must be trying to log in and use it, or waste it. Streaming would be impossible at these high latency & speed.
