Gingerclerg Posted May 14, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 14, 2019 I'll be traveling on the Norwegian Bliss in January and have Specialty dining as an add on. Has anyone had experience with Ocean Blue when your travel companion thinks all seafood is terrible? I love it but don't want to waste a dinner if we'll have to get Pizza in the buffet later to supplement the meat and potatoes guy. Thoughts? Two Wheels Only Posted May 14, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 14, 2019 Dine separately that night. Send him to Cagney's.
GUT2407 Posted May 14, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 14, 2019 When you travel with someone compromises need to be made, go together, don’t go or go separately, see someone needs to compromise.
bigherky Posted May 14, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 14, 2019 You should be fine. I'm not exactly sure what the most up-to-date ocean blue menu looks like, but to my knowledge they have always had some kind of steak option.
Nola26 Posted May 14, 2019 #5 Share Posted May 14, 2019 I thought Ocean Blue requires an extra charge. Select something where the credit can be fully used and you both will like the meal. Why pay extra for something you companion doesn't want?
Cazz Posted May 14, 2019 #6 Share Posted May 14, 2019 I dined at Ocean Blue last week as one of my Specialty Dining options and didn’t realise there was an extra charge of $12. Just saying. I did enjoy it though, but I love seafood. There was steak on the menu.
Coastalbreezes Posted May 14, 2019 #7 Share Posted May 14, 2019 Ocean Blue has a couple of non-seafood options including filet mignon (delicious) and a chicken cordon bleu (also very good). Either choice with some sides and an app or dessert will be quite filling. Tracy
drvmywifecrzy Posted May 14, 2019 #8 Share Posted May 14, 2019 It is the best service on the ship. Go and enjoy. Have lots of drinks there too.
LrgPizza Posted May 14, 2019 #9 Share Posted May 14, 2019 Why would that person want to pay extra to go to a seafood restaurant when they don't enjoy seafood? Time and money would be better spent elsewhere.
Rare graphicguy Posted May 14, 2019 #10 Share Posted May 14, 2019 This isn’t just true on a ship. But, even on land, if a couple has a liking (or disliking) for one type of food over another, compromises have to be made if you’re going to dine together. Same on the ship.
coffeebean Posted May 14, 2019 #11 Share Posted May 14, 2019 Folks have said there are other options besides seafood on the menu. Seems doable to me for both parties to enjoy a wonderful meal and service.
