Yayaof4andlovinit Posted June 14, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2019 We are torn between early and late dining. Considering “Anytime” but need to know how that works if you want to see the main show. I am told you watch 1st show with late dining and late show with early dining. can someone help me out here please?

Rare SRQbeachgirl Posted June 14, 2019 #3 Share Posted June 14, 2019 Anytime dining means you show up to eat whenever you want and go to whatever show you want to go to. No signing up, no reservations.
teknoge3k Posted June 14, 2019 #4 Share Posted June 14, 2019 ^ What they said. Normally with YTD we show up when they open or close to that time, eat and we're done before the shows begin.
Rare Saint Greg Posted June 14, 2019 #5 Share Posted June 14, 2019 (edited) I do ATD, get there when they open, and pretty much free up the night for a main show and comedy if I want. Edited June 14, 2019 by Saint Greg
riffatsea Posted June 14, 2019 #6 Share Posted June 14, 2019 IF there is a musical production there are 2 shows. You can go to whichever one fits your schedule before or after dinner depending on when you choose to go to dinner for Anytime Dining. There are also comedy shows. Often there are 4 of them-2 family friendly shows and 2 over 18 shows later in the evening. Some nights there are no musical shows at all but there is some other entertainment. With Anytime Dining you have choices of when to eat. With set dining you go at set times. Up to you which you prefer.
maryred Posted June 14, 2019 #7 Share Posted June 14, 2019 Show times depend on the ship but either way they do revolve around the timing of the traditional set time dining. Some ships the set up is as you described like with a 7/7:30pm for the early show and 8:30/9pm for the late, but on a few others the show schedule is for after each dinnertime, like the first show is 7:45/8pm and the second at 9:45/10pm (the Pride does this). This is for the Playlist and general production variety shows that usually last about 45 minutes. On nights with a family friendly show (Hasbro or like a magician) and an adult only act or competition (like Love and Marriage or a specialty rate R fly-on act) the show times will be adjusted to accommodate the core audience's popular dining time or in the case of some little kid friendly shows be done a seaday matinee. COmedy show times are total different Carnival has their own comedy club on each ship (even the older ones). Common times for the comedy are usually the PG ones are about 7:30 (act #1) and 8:30 (act #2) and the R rated versions at 10pm and 11pm. On the next night the 2 comedians switch flip-flop which time they perform. We prefer ATD and know enough to get to the dining room about 2 hours prior to a show we want to see in case there is a wait for tables.Personally my DH likes to see the main theater show first then eat then head to the comedy. But when we travel with mom it's eat first then catch the various shows.

No signing up, no reservations. On several of the ships you can now reserve YTD on the HUB app. You don't have to go the the dining room and wait. It gives you the time to be there. AAAAmerican Posted June 14, 2019 #9 Share Posted June 14, 2019 With a set time dining .. why do you think it is the most sought after and requested? Early is always booked and has the Waiting List. Shows are time set to it , sometimes shows do not go on for late dinming. BTW: AnyTime Dining is not AnyTime.
Rare KmomChicago Posted June 14, 2019 #10 Share Posted June 14, 2019 (edited) If you have Your Time Dining and go to the dining room as soon as they open you can probably make the early shows. usually YTD starts earlier than the early seating on set time.
