DoggyDaddy Posted July 2, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 2, 2019 Does the Dolphin Deck on the Zaandam have windows, portholes, or both? If portholes, how big would they be? Thanks id advance for responses.
crystalspin Posted July 2, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 2, 2019 "G" category oceanviews (cabins 1804-1815) on Dolphin Deck have portholes. The appear to be about 1' in diameter and there are two of them. If the bed is made as a queen/king, it will be in front of the view, whether portholes or window. The port holes are standard size so it should give you some idea

If you request the bed to be split for two singles, you will have easier/better access to the portholes or windows. And, I think it makes the stateroom more spacious with more usable space.

No, but the Amsterdam is a sister ship to the Zaandam. Further, Copper said that the Oosterdam has the same windows as the Amsterdam.
mcmarya Posted July 3, 2019 #8 Share Posted July 3, 2019 (edited) Only the cabins toward the front of the ship have portholes--as far as I know, each has 2 portholes--see photo. You should be able to tell from the deck plans which ones those would be. Some of them are a bit small. As the ship narrows at the fore, the cabins become shallower, accommodating a chair instead of a love seat or sofa. DoggyDaddy Posted July 4, 2019 Author #11 Share Posted July 4, 2019 We had decided to go on the 33 day cruise around South America (ending in Rio) due to the HA “we will pay your gratuities” promotion. We only wanted to pay for an OV cabin, thus my original post. Apparently HA will not honor the promotion with this cruise per various HA people, so we have decided not to take the trip. It is too bad as it would have bumped up to Four Star status. DD
Rare *Miss G* Posted July 4, 2019 #12 Share Posted July 4, 2019 Sorry to hear you won’t be sailing the Zaandam. She is a beautiful ship.
