Shareholders Benefit Issue

Hi everyone

Anyone currently  having issue with obtaining the prescribed OBC as shareholder?

I am currently having problem in getting my submission processed/approved for an upcoming sailing. I usually get the prescribed  OBC within 2-3 days of submitting my request. It has been 2 weeks since my submission with acknowlegement and a case #.  This is the first time ever I am still waiting for my OBC to be issued. Not only I am still waiting but my subsequent inquiries last week have remained on deaf ears! I have been bounced from customer relations to reservations back and worth. It is getting a tad frustrating to say the least!

Anyone out there experiencing this problem? Anyone out there has the direct number I can call on this issue  where an actual person would answer. I used to have it longtime ago? The regular phone number is totally useless as they bounce you back and forth.

Thanks

There was reference to this about a week ago here. We did send in our request about 10 days ago and don't think we have gotten a response or if we have hubby didn't tell me and it is not on our reservation.

they do stipulate 30 days but they have been much quicker than that. I usually get back within 48 hours however my last one took a week and numerous calls. I am a last minute bargain booker and was wondering if they were slowing down the process so as to not let us  get so much discount.

PS&BTW- I'm still waiting over 30 days for my last cruise to be added to my latitudes points. Who knows, summer overflow, computer breakdown, low manpower?

Ditto for me.  No luck on getting the OBC and it has been over a month since it was requested.  I looked at all of my past OBC requests and it never took more than 48 hours to show up.  I may try guest services on the ship, but I'm not sure it is worth the fight for $100 OBC when I'm on vacation.

You could try forwarding your original request with notation that the Shareholder OBC has not been applied.  I took this route once and obc was applied same day.  I did not refer to acknowledgement or case # but by forwarding first request they could see how long it had been.

Can't find a phone number for shareholder benefit department but maybe the Investor Relations Dept could provide that information.

We are one week from our cruise and still don't have a confirmation for our OBCs. The request was sent 2 weeks ago. Usually we hear back in 48 hours the most. They do not respond to the e-mails and we are running out of time. Very frustrating...

Been watching this thread and another similar one... wondering if I would also have the same issues. I submitted my request on the 13th for my October cruise. I received confirmation today that it was applied. Confirmed it also shows in my cruise summary as well. So it only took a week.

Good to hear, we are also cruising on Oct 13th and sent ours in about 10 days ago I guess. Will have to check our cruise summary.

Resubmitted the request, received a standard reply. E-mailed Investor Relations Department, no response. In many cruises this is the first time we have so much trouble even getting an answer. Still waiting. 5 days to the cruise.

Call 1-800-456-7298 for the cruise benefits department. Explain that you submitted and have not received the benefit yet and they will fix it for you!

gaabee, I can't thank you enough! With 4 days until our cruise I was getting really frustrated that I couldn't get any answers to our request. I called the number you provided and OBC was applied to our onboard account immediately and we already received a confirmation.

I let the rep know that there are a lot of shareholders that are not getting replies to their requests. She said they are overloaded with requests and are working on solving the problem. Well, I think it might have something more to do with the current changes to the shareholder benefits but that's the answer I got.

Anyway, gaabee, thank you so much again for your help!

No problem! I got that phone number from the lady listed above so I figured I'd update this so she doesn't get her phone blown up by all of us. Enjoy your cruise!

What are the 'changes' to the shareholder benefits? I must have missed that.

NCL shareholder benefit might no longer be combinable with other perks.

if you have to give up your perks, shareholder benefits become a lousy bonus. doesn't sound right.

This concern was based on someone's misunderstanding months ago. Apparently he was told he could not get his OBC because he was on a special discounted rate. What the story was: if you are using something like an airline discount or TA discount because you are an employee you do not qualify for the OBC. That does make some sense. He took it as anyone on special rates that are offering perks like "free at sea" will no longer get the OBC. This has proven not to be the case. This is also how rumors get started. We sometimes and probably all of us do this, spread something around based on how we hear it, not based on the true story.

Exactly. I recall reading that (incorrect) post at the time. Soon after, we submitted a request for shareholder benefits for our upcoming cruise, where we have the Free at Sea perks. We were approved promptly for the shareholder OBC.

if you read what i wrote, it has nothing to do with free at sea perks, it has to do with which rate is used IE sailaway, casino ect

and if you read the form T&C you would also know

sheez, and BTW some have not gotten the full OBC or any at all because of it

buy again everyone is a expert without reading anything directly from NCL
