Resort Day Pass Site

Southwest changed our return flight so now we have a day to spend in Fort Lauderdale area.  Any suggestions for sites that offer a day pass to resorts that include a room for the day?  Resortpass.com offers several resorts but only includes use of the facilities.

I'm not sure if hotels in FLL offers day passes as well as a day room, but prices for a room are reasonable, and may turn out to be the cheaper way to go.

There might be a few hotels that rent by the hour, but you probably won't want to stay in any of them.  You can also do an activity like a tour or intercoastal water cruise or museum visit to kill some time enjoyably.

For future reference: If an airline informs you of a significant schedule change, you should be offered an opportunity to accept/reject the change, including the option to change to another available flight at no additional charge (or get a refund).

AND, if your ticketed airline has no other reasonably convenient flights, you can request that your ticket be "assigned" to a different airline (at no additional charge).

BTW, "assignment" is easiest if you initially choose an airline that belongs to a "consortium" (e.g., Star Alliance) and a routing that involves hub airports with lots of flight options.

As a general rule, particularly for intercontinental flights, we do the research and have alternative originating/connecting flight info on hand.

As for your initial question, hotel day passes to desirable properties with access to an actual hotel room, rather than just the "facilities" (pools, showers, luggage storage and restaurants) may require a personal contact and some negotiation when you want something beyond any published "day pass" deal.

Good luck with your quest.

WN doesn't participate in any interlining agreements other airlines; you're stuck until WN can accommodate you.  It would be a very rare case where WN would allow you to be rebooked on another airline.

Most day passes that I've heard of only allow access to pools, and such and not a room.  Day rooms are not a money maker for a hotel - departure times are 11am for the guest staying the night before and check in for that room is sometimes 3-4pm.  So, the only way to really profit from a "day room" sale is if there is a vacant room that won't be needed until the next day.   Give a call to some hotels in the area and see what you can get from a hotel.

Thanks for the replies.   Southwest did offer other flights on Southwest but we opted to keep the non stop we were rebooked to from our booked non stop.  Would rather spend the extra time in Florida than in any airport on a layover.
