Back to back?

How does O handle back to back cruises?  Say, two cruises out of Miami, both of which return to Miami.  If you have the same cabin on both cruises, can you just stay onboard?  Will you need to vacate with all luggage, clear customs, then get back onboard?  We did this once on HAL at Montreal, and it was seamless.  Thanks!

they will give you instructions of where to meet  along with y our new cruise card & in transit card

The CD will usually walk you off then you can go around to the front re enter the building & wait there until  they zero the ship  usually about 1 hr

OR  there is a trolley that stops out front you can go for a ride to Biscayne  & shop for supplies

we usually go the Bayside mall for  coffee  & a wander

enjoy

Thanks!  Sounds like an easy process.

pretty simple

I would take  a bottle of water with you as sometimes they do not have any in the terminal  while you  wait

Hi LHT28, my husband and I have done mainly B2B and have one for next year, I am interested in the location of the trolley and how to access? is it public transport? How far from the ship? Do you need cash to pay for ticket? etc. Obliged to receive any info you can give.Thanks.

Thanks for the info about Miami.  I have done b2b on Oceania in Europe.  It was very easy. No need to check in again.  Just another day on a cruise. They do block off the cabins for guests embarking that day. However, we were to bypass the blocked off cabins if we wanted to go to our cabin.  There was also a lunch in the dining room for only b2b guests. B2b is known as aGrand Voyage.  See guest services for laundry.

I'm a little confused on the trolley map Lyn, I can't find the Cruise Terminal on the Coral Gables route at all. Help me out here.

Orv

Click on the Coral Gables trolley map on the 2nd link

it shows port of Miami  and in the inset it shows the route around the port area

I think you mean the Coral Way. The second link has no Coral Gables trolley on it. The Coral Gables route in the first link is about 12 miles from the port. At least I'll know what to look for now. I do see the stops on it in the inset.

Thanks for the information, I wasn't aware there was a free trolley there.

LHT28 thank you for the information and links, this will give us an alternative for next year. We do like staying on board and watching everyone departing while we are still on board but maybe a wee trip mid day to escape the madness will be an adventure. Just hope the return trolley is just as obvious pick up and we dont miss sail away|

worst case  grab a taxi

it is not too much  from Bayside Marketplace

We usually come back by  noonish  & you can just reboard the ship ..no need to line up  just show the  in transit card  they give you

Enjoy

Thank you for this information.  We are taking our first B2B this January and I was not aware until this thread that you had to get off the ship in Miami.  It would have been quite the surprise!

I wasn't exactly expecting a pound on the door in the morning telling us to get out, LOL.

However,  it is good to know now so we can plan appropriately, with plenty of time to do so.

It just occurred to me, my plan was to do some laundry on that day. It seems like the perfect time with the ship mostly empty. Will I be able to before the need to get off the ship or should I wait until we get back on?

You will need to get off by 9:30 usually  just like all those disembarking & the laundry rooms may be closed  until reboarding ..I never checked  on turnaround day

Wait until you clear immigration and get back on the ship. You'll have plenty of time before the "newbies" arrive and you will ... most likely ... have the laundry rooms to yourself.

From my B2B this year I believe the Laundry is closed on turn round day as the staff are all dedicated to preparing the ship/delivering cases.

You are given the exact times of the meeting place which on Riviera/Marina was Red Ginger on our past B2B's. All transiting guests meet there along with new crew members coming on board being processed then once all guests have arrived staff escort you through the terminal building, customs, then back on board, in total, including waiting time about 1 - 1 1/2 hours. Great time to have a chat with your fellow passengers as you wait for the all clear that disembarking passengers have all left the ship and the transit passengers can now go through customs.

Documentation is delivered to your cabin well in advance explaining the process and if there is a special lunch in the GDR for transiting guests. All fairly painless, just follow instructions in your letter and from staff and all will be well.

Well, to have an opposite experience I have actually done laundry on a turn around day, but it was in Europe, where we didn't have to get off the ship.

It seems like in Italy we didn't have to get off the ship, but in Barcelona we did, but then got right back on.
