Bring own soda?

Some of the U tube videos say that you can bring cans of soda on board RCL, but our cruise contract says NO beverages except a bottle of wine.  CAN you bring your own soda?

You are permitted to bring on (you must carry it on yourself) two bottles (750ml) of wine per cabin (as long as there is someone who is legally permitted to drink alcohol) and 12 containers (maximum 17 ounces or one half liter) of non-alcoholic drinks, such as soda, juice or water.

Do they have different contracts for different ships on RCCL?. I was surprised when I read mine to not find this restriction. Just the one on alcohol. Maybe I missed it...those contracts are long 🙂

Thanks so much for the info!  My husband only likes 7 up so it will be good to be able to take it on board.

There is a lot of outdated information on the RC website and other places.  What I posted is the current state of "permitted" drinks.

While we have many drink offerings onboard, you are welcomed to bring select beverages onboard.

On boarding day, each stateroom may bring up to two 750 ml bottles of wine or champagne, as long as one guest is of legal drinking age. Corkscrews will be provided for guests to enjoy their drinks in their stateroom. If guests wish to enjoy their wine or champagne in our dining or bar venues, there will be a corkage fee applied.

Guests may also bring non-alcoholic beverages as carry-on items on boarding day. Non-alcoholic beverages may not exceed 12 standard (17 oz.) cans, bottles or cartons per stateroom. Milk and distilled water brought on for infant, medical, or dietary use are permitted. 

Guests who purchase alcohol bottles onboard, in a port-of-call, or bring more than the two permitted bottles on boarding day, will have their items safely stored by the ship. These bottles will be returned on the last day onboard for enjoyment once home.

Sorry to jump in on this but does anyone know if you can take bottles of Robinson's Squash (what we call it in uk) to add to water to  flavour, ? Thanks

Nott a problem as long as it's non-alcoholic and less than 500ml per container.

So, according to the RCI website wording (Guests may also bring non-alcoholic beverages as carry-on items on boarding day. Non-alcoholic beverages may not exceed 12 standard (17 oz.) cans, bottles or cartons per stateroom), we can bring on bottles of Coke or Pepsi? Like a 6 pack of 16.9 oz bottles would be permitted?  Does the number 12 apply to bottles of soda?  Like, we could take 2 6 packs of the 16.9oz bottles per person?  

 

I know that's a lot of soda, and we might not bring that much on board, but my ultra-literal brain needs to know.  🙂

Yes two six packs of soda is permitted.

 

It is per stateroom not per person

Sure, Royal does not care if you are bringing bottles or cans, any factory sealed container no larger than 500ml is fine.

Good to know.  We cruised Carnival last year and we could only bring cans of soda.  Bottles are so much more convenient.

I've brought soda in my carry on with no issues.

2 6-pks of Pepsi Zero would last me 2-3 days at home.  It is my source of caffeine and I often have brought 2 6-pks on board the Royal ships.  I do have the soda package on every cruise, but need some Coke relief daily.  I always carry them on in a cloth shopping bag.  Never an issue.  If only I could say the same with my watch, belt, wallet.  I seem to often be trying to walk away after clearing security with one hand holding up my pants and the other hand holding my bags, watch, wallet, and sometimes shoes.  That is the moment where the 2 6-pks seem a bit weighty.😞
