Confirmation for new Oceana cruises

Has anyone who booked any of the new cruises had a confirmation in writing from P & O yet? We have had a short confirmation from T A but no receipt for payment, and haven’t yet had the letter/e-mail from P & O yet with payment, cabin, OBC etc details.

It was a week ago now the cruise was booked but the Cruise is still not showing on our Peninsula Club account, the two cruises for next year are showing but not the one for this October.  It is showing on anyone else’s?

i also notice on the P & O website they must be still trying to catch up as the list for all the Oceana cruises showing how many formal nights and listing whether tropical, black/white etc is still showing the Dubai cruises.

I booked a cruise the day before the Oceana ones were released and I got the confirmation for that yesterday. Due to the volume of sales I think it will take a few more days for the Oceana ones to come through

Same as you, we booked on open last week via a TA and we have not had P&O confirmation and the booking does not show on our list of booked cruises on the P&O website, but does show on the cruise personaliser.

Yes same here showing on Cruise Personaliser but not yet on account, I was just worried the points weren’t going to get added.

I just checked my emails for our February Oceana cruise confirmations.   I did pre-registration with the TA and received our confirmation dated Tuesday 11:16, I then received P&O email confirmation dated Thursday 14:06.

I guess it is just luck due to the number of confirmations they have to send out.

Exactly the same here - booked last Tues and no info yet from the cruise specialist TA.  Sounds much like your situation amajaa - probably the same one as you.  I have got this Oct Oceana one on the CP, but not yet on my account.  We too only have a short confirmation of booking from them but nothing else as yet.  I rang them up for the P&O booking ref and was able to use that to get into the CP for this cruise.

Made another booking through a High Street TA on the same day (had to go through them as it was tied up with a cancellation) and I did get P&O booking confirmation for our March Oceana cruise dated on the same day. (I did have to ring the TA to ask for it though!!   Having to chase them up is one reason why we tried the other firm for the Oct one).

Although neither cruise is showing on my account, we have gone up a tier for our 2020 cruise on the CP so they must have picked them up both on their system.

My post has just been and still nothing delivered.  The agent I spoke to did say it may take a day or two longer than usual because they were so busy - also Bank Holiday may have impacted on getting stuff out.  But I was pleased to see this thread and realise others are in the same situation so probably nothing to worry about.

While I was checking to see if my cruise was on my account yet I did notice the excursions have been added.

This is definitely the best way to book, much more exciting.

When you book two years ahead, after the confirmation letter it is very 'flat' and you just put it away and forget about it for 18 months or so.

I know I am not forced to book on launch but if I don't I am then reluctant to pay more later.

Are your excursions available to book happy v?  I think from our previous posts, you are getting off as we get on ☹  but ours aren't available yet on the CP.  I do take your point though - relatively late bookings do generate quite a bit of excitement (for me at least) as you're really into the planning and prep straight away whereas those far ahead don't seem so 'real somehow.  Enjoy the planning - part  of the pleasure for me.

Excursion were there when I looked this afternoon.

Yours will probably follow fairly soon.

I love the planning, but we have a holiday next week so I'm trying to concentrate on that first.

Hi, a few years since we have sailed p&o, but luck lucky enough to get the 35 night cruise. Same as others have already said, details are on cruise personaliser but not on my account. Is this perhaps the reason that no tier is detailed on cruise personaliser, it just says 'no loyalty tier'. Off topic a bit but have p&o moved to being able to record on board spending in a better way than keeping drawer full of receipts.

Thanks

All the documentation came through yesterday!  All fine now but it was the first time I'd used this agent so was a bit thrown by the lack of immmediate receipt for payment and P&O confirmation from the agent, although the CP was available so I could see all was in hand with P&O.  I know they'd be busy but it has been quite a wait.

Now I'm totally confused!  The excursions were there a couple of days ago on my CP - I'd even selected in my head which we might do but looked this morning to discuss with my OH - and it says 'Excursions not yet available'!!!

Lots of people on Facebook are complaining of things disappearing from their Personaliser this morning. The conclusion seems to be there is something wrong with the site. So check back tomorrow perhaps.

We had all our paperwork the other day as well but that cruise is still not showing up on my P & O account, only the cruises booked for next year are showing.

I also noticed that on the Southampton Cruise Schedule there are no Oceana cruises showing yet.

We booked directly with P&O and received our confirmation via email almost immediately. I've not checked my account to see if the night's have been added, but when I last checked my personalised the excursions were not up. I thought that this was fair enough given how recently the cruise was announced - pretty excited to see what's on offer mind!

Mine is worse than yours! They've removed the button completely.😲😊

Like you I'm just making a list. I have so much OBC I intend to buy them on board.

I think the TA could have been quicker. It's obvious people worry when they don't receive their paper work.

😲😲  They clearly have a problem!   I couldn't believe it when they weren't there today.  Still like you it's mainly for planning purposes as we too will use obc.

Yes, I would have been very concerned if it hadn't been that when I phoned them to get the P&O booking reference I was able to access my CP and therefore knew it was in hand with P&O even if I had nothing to hand!  Our TA closed in town earlier this year and our tried and trusted agent left so our existing bookings were transferred to the next town and we had no personal contact there.  I've not found them too efficient having to chase things up myself so decided to try a well recommended online site for the first time and had very helpful and efficient service on the phone - I just wasn't expecting such a delay in receiving the documentation.  Our friends who book with them regularly say that it's not unusual so I'll know next time.

I always book direct. Mainly because I am a control freak 😉 and have to be in charge. I have to admit I'm not very good at waiting either and expect things to be done instantly.

I'm glad it's sorted for you and hopefully the cp will be working again tomorrow.

Now I've typed this I'm feeling a bit guilty as I know my children would be saying "first world problems, mother!!!"

Changing the subject a bit but still on Oceana, I notice the Roll Call Forum isn’t very well used for P & O especially for these new cruises on Oceana.  I started a Roll Call for our cruise the end of October the first day of release and no one else has joined.

The Roll Calls on Princess and other American lines are normally very well used, do you think us Brits tend to just use Facebook more for things like that?

You are quite right - I've been checking and only spotted one.  Don't think it's yours amajaa but I'll look again.  We go end of October too.

We have had some good roll calls in the past but mainly for longer cruises.  But it's good to exchange ideas and info so it's a shame the roll calls aren't more popular.

P.S.  Can only find Oct 10th 2019 - but that wasn't started by you.  What am I doing wrong?

Yes and they all post telling everyone they are going to be away from home.

The other thing I don’t like about Facebook ( although I do read the pages) if how rude people are.

I phoned P & O earlier about the cruise not being on our account, the girl said that is one of the things they know they still have to do. She went on to say how well they had done to get all the new cruises planned and up and running so quickly. Which is very true.
