Missing Roll Calls

Hello Community Support Specialists

 

Why oh why is it impossible for you to give us a Roll Call listing for ms Maasdam 23 July 2019?

There is one for December 3, 2019, also one for January 6, 2020.  But what is happening to Dec 23?

We were promised that it would be fixed "soon", but that was mid July.  It is now September!!!

I do not understand it.

There will be many people on this cruise who are looking for this roll call, but they cannot find it.

Surely if you can add the one before and the one after you can add the one in the middle???

I’m not sure what your angst is.

 

the ‘bug’ with CC is not in starting roll calls, it’s on the ‘find’ your roll call which can be done (as you have) using the old way.

 

Cruise Critic doesn’t create the roll calls.  Someone has to start one.  Just like you started this thread here.

 

All you have to do is go here https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/226-maasdam-roll-calls/page/3/ and press the same button you did here to start your thread and you can create the roll call.

 

It just needs one person to start it.  Take a look at all the roll calls.  They are all started by Cruise Critic members. 😉

Not every cruise has a roll call unless a Cruise Critic Member starts it as kazu has so eloquently said.

Only if you go on the December 3 roll call where this link is mentioned can you find it.  That is how I found it too. Just because someone was nice enough to list it.  

 

Mid July CC people mentioned that they were looking into the omission and that it would be fixed soon.  That has not happened.

 

Sure, I could start a new one but that would be even more confusing don't you think?

The roll call tool finder is broken. Who knows when it will be fixed. Just need to do the old fashioned search the roll calls until you find it, like we did before the tool even existed.

You already understand that the "Search roll call" function doesn't work right.  Sure it's annoying.  So just avoid it.

 

Go to the main CC TOC (table of contents).

Go to Roll Calls, and click on "Holland America".

Click on Maasdam.

The do a "search" on that page for the date, e.g., "23".  If it doesn't show up on the first page b/c it's been bumped, then go to the next page, and do that same search.

It takes less than a minute.

 

This problem has been there for some time, so rather than complain, since that clearly isn't working, "work with it", since there IS a very easy way to do it.

 

And if others have the same problem, then just help them with instructions like this.

 

But PLEASE do NOT complain that there is no such Roll Call or "ask" that one be "provided to you", because it IS THERE.

And it never worked 100% of the time before it was "broken".  😒

 

Just bookmark your roll call and it will be easy to find.

Thanks for this information.  I didn’t know the roll call finder was broken.  I’ve recently booked a couple of cruises and couldn’t find a roll call for either - now I understand why.  I’ll try the search feature to see what I can find.
