Best weather in the South Pacific

We are looking at the 32 day RT San Diego to Hawaii, Tahiti, Marquesas. This itinerary runs in November and February. We have never sailed to the South Pacific. We are wondering about the difference in the weather in November vs February. February appears to be more popular for the obvious reason but what might we expect if we went for the November sailing?

 We returned from our 2018  Grand Asia in November-December, through part of the South Pacific and found no difference from our 2008 cruise through that area.  Perhaps we were just lucky.  Gorgeous weather, calm seas.

 November could have rougher seas   . On one cruise coming back from  Hawaii   in late October ,on a vessel that was 73000 tons &  only had rudders  ,we hit into  35 mph  gale  force  winds  & 35 to 40 ft swells  .No one can tell  exactly how the Pacific ocean will  be   in certain months ;however ,it is well known that the big waves in Hawaii are in the winter months  .Thus ,imo only , we would think Feb into March there is calmer waters . Remember the Pacific is twice the size of the Atlantic ocean & very unpredictable .You will not hit tropical  type temperatures until at least 3 days out to sea  toward the Hawaiian islands 

  

 What ever month you decide enjoy your 32 day cruise😀

I think he's referring to azipods (sp) although I don't know how that  would make a difference in how the ship behaves in rough seas.

Yes it was Celebrity Century which had rudders

Our Hawaii, Tahiti Marquesas cruise was in the spring.

 

We had the unfortunate experience of going in the worst spring in 50 years.  (We had a few locals tell us that).  We missed a number of ports and had to have the itinerary changed in the end so we could get supplies and some decent weather in a couple of ports.

 

We still had a great cruise as Captain Van Eerten went above and beyond with pool parties, entertainment, etc. To try to make amends and then a future cruise credit although HAL is not responsible for weather.

 

Normally that is a great time to go - the moral of the story - no one can predict weather or what King Neptune might bring.  Choose what works for you and go with the flow 🙂

We did this trip this past March of weather was great!!!!

I’ve been twice in November and the weather has been ideal.

It’s a great itinerary.

We also did the Hawaii, Tahiti, Marquesas cruise on the Eurodam, March 9 to April 6, and we had wonderful weather the whole cruise.  The usual choppy seas for the first 2 days out of San Diego and the same coming back in.  But the rest of the cruise was sunny and calm.   The Hawaii cruises before the March 9 cruise did have weather issues where many ports were cancelled.   But those cruise were not continuing down to Tahiti, they cruised through the Hawaiian islands and came back to San Diego.
