zitsky Posted October 29, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 29, 2019 I just got my eDocs from Celebrity today. The directions to the port are pretty generic. No terminal #. I suppose they don't know it in advance. What do you tell the taxi driver, Port Everglades, Celebrity Equinox? (my ship) I suppose once we get to the Port there will be a directory of which ship is at which terminal? Or perhaps there is a shuttle bus from the entrance of the port to the ship? I have cruised before but never with Celebrity and never from Port Everglades. And most times I'm getting transfers from the cruise ship.
CruiserBruce Posted October 29, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 29, 2019 There will be big signs at each entrance and signage along the way within the port. No worries. Celebrity has been using Terminal 25, but nothing is guaranteed a long ways out.
iahawkfan21 Posted October 29, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 29, 2019 Check back for location closer to your sail date to see if it's posted. We always just tell our driver the name of the ship and have never had a problem. Port Everglades is quite large but just the name of the ship has always worked. capriccio Posted October 29, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 29, 2019 The official Port Everglades website (www.porteverglades.net) has lots of info including a map and the ships' docking information a week before arrival/departure.
FOPMan Posted October 30, 2019 #5 Share Posted October 30, 2019 I can’t imagine a taxi driver in Fort Lauderdale not knowing where Port Everglades is. Furthermore, both entrances are off major thoroughfares.
zitsky Posted October 30, 2019 Author #6 Share Posted October 30, 2019 Ok makes sense. Haven't done my own transfer for a while. Will just tell my taxi driver "Port Everglades".

capriccio Posted October 30, 2019 #8 Share Posted October 30, 2019 Also be prepared and have your ID and boarding pass ready to show port security so you don't hold up the line of traffic. At the security booths there are signs with each ship's name and terminal number and the security staff will provide directions if necessary. ipeeinthepool Posted October 30, 2019 #9 Share Posted October 30, 2019 (edited) What hotel are you staying in in Fort Lauderdale? Many are so lose that you can see the port and the ships. If the taxi driver can't find Port Everglades, he's really bad. Wait for the next taxi. Edited October 30, 2019 by ipeeinthepool

ipeeinthepool Posted October 30, 2019 #13 Share Posted October 30, 2019 The Renaissance is across the street from the entrance to the port, you can just point. The Renaissance has a contract with a private shuttle service to take people to the port for an additional fee. A taxi or Uber will be cheaper and quicker. I've never seen a situation anywhere in Fort Lauderdale where the shuttle was cheaper than Uber or a taxi. An Uber is probably around $10. There is a sign directing you to correct pier by the security gate.

For any shuttle in Fort Lauderdale near Port Everglades if they charge per person and you are a group of 2 or more, it is usually cheaper (much cheaper if you have 3 or 4 passengers) to take an uber/lyft or taxi (van taxis charge the same as sedans).
