Luggage Direct

We are flying into San Diego a day before our cruise. Luggage Direct states they will hold our bags in storage for the day and deliver them to the ship the next day. Has anyone done this? Any problems? It sounds kinda scary, but we really don't want to schlep our bags from airport to hotel to ship.. My husband is currently using a wheelchair,  so we'll have our hands full.

We have used this service from Luggage Direct twice. I believe it’s called Bag VIP. It certainly worked as advertised! One time they held our bags for 48 hrs before our ship departed. I will note that the 1st time we used was at the FLL airport and we sat in the baggage claim area and watched as the Luggage Direct valet actually grabbed our 2 bags as well as 6 others off the belt. It was kind of funny because as he walked by us another couple walked up to him asking him to please take care of their bags.

We haven't used this service but we certainly intend to do so.

We're planning to stay overnight prior to the cruise and have our bags delivered to the ship.

We also plan on using the service to have our bags delivered to our home after the cruise.

Here's the link to this service:

We used the service in September (but had our bag delivered to our hotel, not ship).  It worked perfectly, they send you updates each time your bag moves from place to place.  Our hotel was Movenpick in Amsterdam, practically next door to the pier, is why we had it delivered there.  It was our first time using the VIP service, so I was super worried about the bag making it to the ship.  We had several days at the hotel pre-cruise, but our bag was there before us and the hotel happily held it for us.

We're looking at using a similar service but at the end of the cruise, not the beginning - we'll disembark the ship in Vancouver by 10:00am but our international flight isn't until 9:00pm that evening, and we want to make the most of that final day in Vancouver without having to lug our suitcases around with us. We'relooking to use a service called Porter Genie to pick up our cases when we disembark, and deliver them back to us at a specified time at the airport. It's $10 per suitcase which sounds very reasonable. Anybody used that, or a similar service before? Any thoughts or recommendations?
