My favourites have been the four cheese and the vegetarian. To my utter horror, I have discovered that the Sky only has Margherita and pepperoni every single day. Every single day. No changeovers. The cooks said they do not have daily specials anymore. By adding the very boring and very doughy Stromboli slices and the Love Boat meatball dishes, seems like they have done away with the specialty pizzas. Here are two of the new dishes. No one in our party has enjoyed them. Smaller than they look. We noticed several cruises ago that the poolside pizzeria was only offering the two choices and figured that the reason was to get people to go to Alfredo's for other choices. As per my visits to Alfredos on the Sky and every other ship I tried it on only confirmed that I still don't care for it and will probably not go there again. Oh yeah food is subjective. 😉

During our 4 weeks on the Sky last month we were disappointed that the rotating flavors of nightly ice creams never changed & only the flavor of sorbet changed. We eventually discovered that we could only order scoops of the nightly flavor of profiterole ice cream only...chocolate & peanut butter was our favorite flavor. 😋 Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences with us & if you see Capt Tuvo today wish him a Buon Natale! Mom33 Posted December 25, 2019 #81 Share Posted December 25, 2019 We had a great cruise despite the pizza and I agree with others here that Capt. Tuvo was amazing.

Not sure why they would let something like that out of the kitchen. speaking of Alfredo’s, I am in love with the caprese style salad with the pesto sauce and the rolled zucchini. One of my favourite things on board.

That is disgusting......... Kind of odd all the bad food/service comments on the Sky since it's first cruise. Time for some management/cook staff changes in the restaurant perhaps?
h-sar Posted December 25, 2019 Author #84 Share Posted December 25, 2019 Have excellent wifi at the Belize mall area. Here is probably 85% of today’s lunch offering in the buffet. No area was pictured twice so this is an actual replication of most of the food available today.
h-sar Posted December 25, 2019 Author #85 Share Posted December 25, 2019 The shawarma in the last pic was to die for. And the grilled veggies on this little side grill are a scrumptious daily snack.

There were some food hiccups on this cruise, but we found much to enjoy. They definitely need to adjust the ovens in Alfredos and give more choices up on Lido. As for the food overall, it far surpassed the Disney dining on our May cruise. The Sky food was hot and seasoned well. Disney's was warm and dried out. h-sar Posted December 25, 2019 Author #89 Share Posted December 25, 2019 I seriously cannot believe that this is where I am standing on Christmas Day (At this very second). Feeling pretty fortunate to be here with my entire family at this time of year.

On the last day of our 28-day cruise in November Alfredo’s was closed due to technical difficulties with the ovens...based on your experience they’re obviously still having oven problems. MusicalBear Posted December 25, 2019 #91 Share Posted December 25, 2019 Wonderful Review!! I love all of the food pictures. Can't wait to get on the Sky in a few weeks for our Western Caribbean sailing and try all of the new food items. I like Princess the best of all the cruise lines but I would sometimes get tired of getting the same food all of the time. Glad to see they are trying some new items. I have a great rest of your cruise!
masterty Posted December 25, 2019 #92 Share Posted December 25, 2019 Finally found the Phantom Bridge. Sold out for this voyage. Will try again next week. For those wondering about the stairs between deck 3 and 4 for tendering, I saw in use today a wheelchair lift at the forward elevators that would take a chair from deck 4 to deck 3. I know many travel with scooters and chairs so this photo may help some.
kywildcatfanone Posted December 25, 2019 #93 Share Posted December 25, 2019 We tried alfredos earlier this week. Not impressed. No better than on lido deck, which isn't bad, but I expected different.

phabric Posted December 26, 2019 #96 Share Posted December 26, 2019 I think the gentleman had a portable wheelchair that folds up on the tender. Scooters can not go on the tenders.

h-sar Posted December 26, 2019 Author #100 Share Posted December 26, 2019 DH and I don’t drink, so didn’t spend much time in the Regal’s Crooners, however, I can see how it might be a big loss for those of you who enjoyed it. There always seemed to be people in there and the seating was fantastic, just even for socializing. Le Mer seems to be a wasted space for the better part of the day. Not sure if Princess will be losing or making money here. I’m thinking the former. If you’re looking for a table to play cards during the morning or afternoon, might be the place for you, because no one else will be there!
