Empress smoking areas

We are thinking of booking a junior suite on Empress but want to make sure we are not on the side of the ship that is directly underneath the smoking area.  Can you tell me what side allows smoking?

Many Thanks!

I cannot help with your direct question but I can assure you that there is no smoking anywhere inside the Empress.

Nope.  The casino is not a separate room on the Empress.  It is basically open to the areas around it.  The only solution is to prohibit smoking there.

Hurrah!

Thanks for the quick response..

The open deck behind Boleros is also a smoking section on the Empress.

Pick towards the front of the ship because they have a beautiful smoking area at the back of the ship behind Boleros.

The port side of the aft deck behind Boleros is smoking.  Starboard is non-smoking.  Occasionally smokers will ignore the rules and smoke on the starboard side of the aft deck but they are taking steps to deal with that as best they can.

We ended up with 9614.  It's our second cruise on Empress but the first one was in an ocean view room and it didn't really matter.  We really liked Empress the last time we sailed on her and are looking forward to this one.

On our cruise last year,  the entire  seating area on the aft deck behind Boleros was used as a smoking area.  It appeared to be a nice place to relax with a drink but as non smokers, we could not tolerate the thick smoke.

This is exactly why they took additional steps to thwart the smokers who ignored the rules.  Give them an inch, they take a mile.

At least at that time, they appeared to be supporting people smoking as they had placed the large receptacles from the smoking area out there. It looked

Ike a designated smoking area.

In a conversation with the HD, smokers kept moving receptacles to that side so she was trying different things to thwart them.

When we cruised in May the entire area was smoking.  They had ashtrays and notices/signs for the who area.  Maybe they are trying to split it now.  It is a beautiful area with lots of breeze.

Smoking areas are limited so please do not complain that there are a few places people can smoke.
