Considering 1st B2B

Is there a dedicated board for B2B information and questions? We are considering our first and wondering if there's any kind of discount or perks associated with booking or is it basically 2 separate cruises as far as the cruise line is concerned?

Thanks!

No dedicated forum. The very best place is to post your B2B questions on the cruise line forum you are considering booking with. That way you will get cruise line specific answers.

Agree with the suggestions, as each cruise line has its own policies and procedures. We prefer Holland America, and do regular B2Bs with them...have a 24 day (2 12 day cruises) booked for May/June..if booked as one cruise, they are commonly called "Collectors Cruises", and for Collectors Cruises that are greater than two 7 day cruises, there are frequently some added perks...slight discounts, cocktail parties or free dinners, couple other possibilities.

I know other cruise lines require separate bookings, and don't recognize any concept of a B2B.

True, most others see it as two separate bookings that happen to be consecutive.  (Basically for their accounting purposes with folios that are closed with each weekly itinerary).

However, some (Ex: RCI/Celebrity) do recognize it in terms of passenger convenience in that if you cannot book the same stateroom based on availability at the time of booking for both legs, they will assist by packing and moving you to your new stateroom between each leg while in port.  They will also expedite by group of B2B passengers any Department of Immigration requirements that would necessitate exiting and re-boarding the ship between legs.  Typically you would meet in a lounge together and be escorted off and back on as a group ahead of the newly boarding passengers to expedite that process.

Royal Caribbean and Celebrity recognize B2B cruisers for the second leg by offering the consecutive cruisers a lunch in the MDR.

Cunard will book single 'voyages' or multiple overlapping segments - so passengers will change [old one leaving, new passengers arriving] at several ports. For example last on our NYC round trip, there were passengers booked for cruise segments from Quebec to Southampton , NYC to Southampton, Southampton to Hamburg, Hamburg to Southampton, Hamburg to LeHavre, Southampton to NYC, and LeHavre to NYC.

Some things were treated as separate segments [e.g. our WiFi time balance was credited at Southampton, Hamburg and again at Southampton] Other perks were treated as a single 'voyage', like only one 'world club' invite for the round trip.
