what do you do with your dogs while you are away for four months on a WC?  Do they remember you when you return?

Ragnar - we normally leave then with our daughter & SIL, who live upstairs. Last time our SIL was away for his RCMP training & daughter had a baby to look after, so we brought in a pet sitter.

You bet they still recognise you, welcoming you back as if you have only been to the shops.

Does anyone know the name the joint venture will operate under?

I found the below information from the Chinese news. The registration name is "China Merchants Viking Cruises Limited", but not sure if they will have another name for sales and marketing.

Viking Sun now steaming about 100 miles from Chinese Waters, almost as if she is holding for orders.

Unfortunately she is outside coast station range and I won't pay for satellite info, so don't see the AIS info. Currently heading NE.

Anyone interested in dog-sitting (for free) in our ocean view house in southern Orange County, CA during the 4 month 2022-2023 WC?  Assuming we can worm our way on board?  Only duties are to keep a 100lb doberman happy.  And police your empties 🙂

How hard to keep happy is he/she?   Mike and I might be up to discuss it.

A person or two could do a lot of damage to a wine cellar in 4 mo.

Ha-ha! Damage already done!  A year trapped at home, with no wine tasting trips, has grearly depleted our stores.  75% of the bottles in the racks are empties, with the cork replaced and the foil glued back on 🤪

- Two 45 minute brisk walks a day.

- 30 minutes of fetch in the yard.

- 30 minutes running around the house playing keep-away.

- Prepping two fresh-food meals a day for his highness.

- Holding a raw-hide chew-bone while the slobber runs down over and prunes your hand.

- Providing one or more body parts to be chewed on.

- Bath and mani-pedie every week or so,

- Allowing room on the bed for his highness’s long legs to stretch out, your comfort is secondary.

- Not minding voluminous dog farts....

100lb doberman happy.

Doberman??? Good luck! Hope you find somebody to house sit! And have a super time on the WC! Now that we ha two kittens (won't be kittens much longer of course) we'll be looking for a pet sitter for our next cruise. Hopefully we can find one as good as the one we used to have.

Kittens make great Muskie bait.
