Looks great, although no tomato sauce for me with fish and chips, tartare sauce, malt vinegar, lemon, fine. We always order Halibut Les. The tomato sauce is for the chips not the fish. And there is malt vinegar on the fish as well (just a little bit, one of those little take away packs) This is an example of a Halibut That is a photo I found on line, I had nothing to do with that catch.

Love halibut Lyle, only place I have had it is on the Princess ships MDR and in a restaurant in Vancouver post cruise, some years ago. You would probably get shark here aka Flake. In UK, I love the Skate fish. Edited December 12, 2020 by NSWP
Blackduck59 Posted December 12, 2020 Author #1753 Share Posted December 12, 2020 We are fortunate to live in the part of the world that halibut call home. It's still quite expensive I think about $40.00 a kilo.
Chiliburn Posted December 12, 2020 #1754 Share Posted December 12, 2020 That’s a big fish Lyle, I heard they get big. Are they any good to eat that big, sometimes they get tough and get heavy metals built up.
Blackduck59 Posted December 12, 2020 Author #1755 Share Posted December 12, 2020 That is an unusual fish although 40 kilos is not uncommon. I'm thinking at $40.00 a kilo the guy that catches a 100 kilo halibut is going to eat it.

I buy the frozen Barramundi in Aldi, kilo pack, from Asia somewhere, for about $20 a pack. It is ok, grill it with lemon and butter.

I must say he is funny, I did not realise he was a comedy act, I like him then. I cracked up when he got a pie from the 'Deery" (Dairy - NZ Corner shop.) Kiwis appear to put cheese in every meat pie. Not a mushy pea to be seen, how sad. Edited December 15, 2020 by NSWP

Initially I thought he had escaped from the Auckland Nut House, lol. Whilst on the NZ pie issue, some years ago we did Air NZ, Sydney to San Francisco, so Syd - Auck, it was lamb pie, Auckland - SF, it was roast lamb. Anyway we had a young business woman sitting alongside us in the aircraft, as soon as she saw the menu she went off, B Hell, I fly this route once a month and the B menu never changes, Lamb, lamb and more B Lamb. I cracked up. 😆 Edited December 15, 2020 by NSWP
