Missing Emails

 Share

Recommended Posts

I was on the 1 Aug and 8 Aug cruises and never received the cancellation emails.

Thinking about it I have NEVER received any promotion emails or any other type of emails from Carnival.

I have my correct email address on my profile and have checked

SEND NEWS & OFFERS TO MY EMAIL ADDRESS

What have I maybe done wrong and how to fix it?

Thanks

OP, I have that checked as well.

I sometimes receive offers but they are what is available when I log into my CCL account.  In fact, IMO it’s better to just log into your account and see what is there.

One day I booked a casino rate. The very next day, I logged in and looked at my offers and found a new ridiculously low casino rate.   I then price matched and received OBC.

My strategy is to check often. Sometimes this prompts a phone call from my PVP. “Hey, you wanna book something?”   LOL.  My response is always “Nope, you’ll be the second person to know!”

Have you checked your spam box?

Yes, I have checked multiple times.  My friend who cruises with me keeps sending me copies of the email he receives asking if I got it also. I never have

depending on how you book, most emails about cancel cruises is sometimes sent to your TA and your TA then has to pass the message to you

First cruise was a rebooked from TA cruise, then rebooked again from SF Alaska cruise.  I did go thru big box for that one

Second one I booked myself online, but just a couple days ago I contacted a PVP

Maybe those are the reasons for no email for cancellation but still doesn't explain lack of email offers....

Such a puzzle

I will add that for the longest time I was not getting their emails too but my husband was. And I was the one who was the researcher and booker of the cruises. Go figure! At some point, I did start receiving their emails but it wasn't because I updated anything. It was always the same email so not sure how things changed.

Maybe add them to your contacts and see if that helps.

I've not received any notice from CCL about this most recent cancellation either.  It was originally booked over the phone with my Personal Vacation Planner in late 2018.  Everything from CLL regarding all of my cruises comes directly to my e-mail without going into a junk folder, but I checked there as well.  I figured there might be a delay because of the quantity going out yesterday, but 24 hours later, I've still received nothing.

Figured I'd simply go online an find the 'make a choice' link there.  Nope.

I did, however, discover that CCL is the single solitary CLIA member that does not have a link on their main home page regarding the health situations and cancellation notices.  That is disappointing, but not completely surprising. 😟

On top of the page, there is a UPDATE message. if you click on more details link, it pop downs another message to click on a different link to view the health and sailing update located here: https://www.carnival.com/health-and-sailing-updates?icid=default_butterbar_health&safety_06032020

I've used two different browsers, and that is simply not there, so I will try a third and, perhaps, fourth.  Thanks for advising.

I use Firefox and have a few privacy & security add-ons. There were times in the past (prior to COVID) when their travel advisory wouldn't appear at the top of the page, but did appear when I switched to Microsoft Edge (which I use as a bare-bones browser for testing). I knew it was an uncooperative Firefox add-on. That happened for quite some time, but at some point, the advisories started appearing using Firefox and have worked every since. I'm betting there's something in your browser(s) settings, or an add-on/extension, that's causing your issue.

Their email system can act pretty wonky at times. In the beginning, my wife got all the emails, to include promotional and booking confirmations. I never got anything through my account. We got our current PVP about 2 1/2 years ago and even though he has both of our emails, my wife is usually the one who gets the booking confirmation. Even if I'm the one who talks to him. It's almost as if her email is the primary in their system.

As far as marketing emails go, sometimes I get ones she doesn't and vice versa.

Then there's online order confirmations. Starting with our cruise last Dec., I stopped getting the confirmation emails every time I purchased something online, like FTTF, internet plans, excursions, whatever. It tells me that it sent a confirmation to my email, which is always correct, but they never come. From that point on, I haven't been getting any of those order confirmations. When it happened, I spoke to our PVP, the excursions dept., and the Fun Shops dept., but none of them could tell me why they stopped. I always got them before that Dec. cruise.

Sounds like you dont have an email on file for that specific booking.

As far as I know I do, I have my email in my profile and when I talked to PVP he confirmed it was the correct one.  He said maybe the email just hadn't hit yet.   No problem, I've been thru enough cancellations I knew what to do.  Wish I would get the promo emails tho....

Same! My husband also always gets the survey which he forwards to me to fill out. I guess the system thinks “men pay, woman survey”, but not over here... it’s woman do it all. 😉

If I remember correctly, the email said that if you don't do anything, they will automatically do the FCC and OBC. Then, you have until xx date to book, or it expires.

I think if you don’t book a cruise with the FCC and OBC by the end of May it just becomes a FCC.  My TA filled out some kind of form for me saying I wanted the FCC/OBC and I got an email from carnival confirming it.

Thanks Greg! We are going to do just that tomorrow. Since we went through a large online TA, that seems to me to be the first point of contact, and see where that takes us.

Neither of us get the survey anymore. I don't think my wife ever got it. I think I've gotten it once. I always have to go dig it up from the website. Next time I talk to our PVP, I need to remember to ask him about all this. Maybe if he deletes our emails from the system and re-enters them, it'll jump start things. Then again, it's probably hopeless.
