B2B same cabin

Same ship, same room, they will know and you don’t need to do anything. I wouldn’t think Australian cruises would be any different. We had B2B out of Miami and we met in the dining room and were escorted off and then back on to the ship and that was it.

I would think that all cruise lines sailing in Australia would follow the same procedures with regard to immigration policies. In the U.S., B2B passengers are escorted off the ship with their passports/birth certificates for the purpose of going through immigration before re-boarding the ship.

As  Ms. Wahine said, B2B passengers will meet in a designated area until the ship has been cleared of all passengers. You'll then be escorted as a group off the ship and through immigration, and back to the ship you go. You'll get your new room keys and get a group photo and a glass of champagne. Then you watch all the new passengers start to board. If you have the same cabin, you need do nothing. Your steward will prepare the room for you like he or she had been doing the prior week. If you have a different room, then the process is different.

I had one b2b on carnival we never left the ship. They got us the new cards from guest services and gave them to us. The other times was escorted off, just that once we werent.

As firefly noted, there is a high probability you will not be escorted off the ship and escorted back on. It is likely you will stay onboard during the turnaround process as that is the customary procedure on most cruise lines when you are considered an in transit passenger outside of the United States.

On all of our B2B'S we have been escorted off the ship to show our id's to customs and then escorted back on. I have read, but not experienced, sometimes if the amount of B2B'ers is large, customs will come on board to check id's so you don't have to leave the ship.

We were on the Carnival Pride Journeys cruise to the Panama Canal in Feb 2017, and the cruise before it.  There was quite a large group doing the B2B - close to 50 - and they gathered us in the annex to the dining room and did the immigration check there.  Then it was out to the atrium for a group picture:

There were  45 B2B'ers on our last B2B on the Sunrise and they made us walk. Thought for sure they would come on board but.....

BTW,  Patti and I were on that Journeys cruise with you. Great cruise! 😎

Never done a B2B before. We have the same cabin for the 2 cruises (Australian cruises). What are the procedures for our luggage between the two segments?

OP, I don't think anyone has answered your question about your luggage yet......if I missed it I'm sorry.

On a B2B same cabin, you do not have to do anything with your luggage, no packing, no unpacking, just leave all your stuff in the cabin as is.

If you had a different cabin, you could move some or all of your stuff/luggage by yourself or have your cabin steward take care of it without any authorities screening or examining it.

The replies I read were all about what a pax needs to do, not the luggage!
