The locals have fought against any attempts to place entry fees or turn it into a hydrotherapy waterpark😂. It is a wonderful experience to be outside under the stars while soaking in the hot water. Lighting Ridge is by far my favourite of the Artesian baths. Having travelled through Europe, Costa Rica and Japan you realise how lucky we are that we have places like this for free at all. Our experience at Moree we would like to forget, had a lovely time in the pools at one of the caravan parks, in the middle of the night some not so nice people kicked the door in while we where sleeping in one of the cabins and rushed in grabbed the wifes hand bag and took off, they must have got a fright when i took off after them stark naked chasing them around the park but when they went over the fence that was the end for me.So never been back to Moree again

That's one thing I miss coming from NZ. I used to do a lot of work in Rotorua and often stayed in motels that had their own hot pools, often one per unit. I'd come back from work, have a soak, then go out to dinner and have another soak when I got back. Bliss!

I have heard about Moree's problems. So far we have stayed in Moree about five times and nothing has happened yet. I don't know if we have just been lucky or maybe things are improving. qbay46 Posted November 13, 2020 #6238 Share Posted November 13, 2020 I should have known something was a miss when i looked at the fence around the park instead of just a 1.8mt high fence they had put sheets of concrete reo steel all around the external fence which made it 2.4 mts high, they still went over that when i was chasing them

I did a little bit of 👮♂️out there in the 80's, not Moree, but not far from there, I don't think it has changed much, the social issues will be around for a long time. Yes the hot pools are nice and the beer is served icy cold. You were lucky you still had the wheels on your car the next morning.
