Just got off the phone to her, its only 32C today, she reckons Cairns is a hole, I tend to agree, the town is nothing much but the springboard for Great Barrier Reef, Kuranda, hinterland etc.

We found Cairns wasn't the greatest either, but really enjoyed Port Douglas.

We spent hours wandering around the streets, aided by a map from the tourist centre. It was very interesting as it took us out of the touristy parts of Brussels to just ordinary neighbourhoods.

I have always liked Cairns and have been there many times. I am not as impressed with Townsville.
