wendycook22 Posted November 30, 2020 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2020 Hi Everyone, I just put a deposit down on a 2022 cruise. I chose cabin 5100 at the end of the hallway on deck 5. I come to realize that this cabin is below the theatre. Does anyone have any reviews or input on this cabin and location? Do they practice late at night/ early in the morning? I may change it to another cabin outside of the theatre area...the other option is under the supper club. Thanks in advance. Wendy
tallnthensome Posted November 30, 2020 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2020 Never ever pick a cabin above or below the theater. Why would you have so few options for a 2022 cruise?
wendycook22 Posted November 30, 2020 Author #3 Share Posted November 30, 2020 I think you misunderstood...It wasn’t the only option, I just didn’t notice until after I booked. I wasn’t sure if it would be a big deal and if I should worry about it and change it.
tallnthensome Posted November 30, 2020 #4 Share Posted November 30, 2020 It may not be a big deal noise wise if you’re a night owl and go to bed at midnight but if you’re the early to bed type then yes, the shows will keep you awake . Change it .....

Everyone’s taste is different. Some people don’t like cabins near the elevators (noise?). Most people don’t want to be above or below bars, casino’s, pool deck with the moving chairs, main dining rooms, kitchens, child care centers. Front of the ship on deck 5 and you might hear the anchor being lowered? The comfort zone anywhere on a ship is a cabin with other cabins on both sides, above and below. Have a great cruise!!! 👍🏼
MeHeartCruising Posted December 1, 2020 #6 Share Posted December 1, 2020 It’s only a problem cabin if you want to sleep prior to the ending of the last event held in the theater each night. You will very likely hear the thumping of music, drums, bass, etc. They sometimes practice during the day and you would hear that as well. Those are not typically early in the morning, but could be. If you’re not in your cabin until midnight, it’s probably not an issue. I’ve had a cabin below the theater on the Getaway and went to bed a couple nights with the show going on. The thumping sort of put me to sleep. I couldn’t make out what any song was. Just the bass sounds passing thru the cabin.

So, yes, you will have residual sound from the theater when it is being used: - For main shows at night - For day activities (Bingo, Deal or No Deal, Shopping Seminars, movies, etc.) - For rehearsals of the night shows (some time during the day when it does not conflict with day activities) So, if you move your room closer to the forward stairwell, you may end up under the Supper Club which does have [loud] music that extends beyond the evening shows in the theater on most nights. For reference, on my Escape cruise last year, the Theater first public use was at 10:15 on sea days for Bingo card sales followed by Bingo. On my Joy cruise last year, the Theater had a movie/video presentation at 10:00 on the first sea day and bingo starting at 10:30 on other sea days. On my Encore cruise last year, the Theater was used for a Port Shopping lecture at 10:00 am on the first sea day and Bingo starting at 10:45 on other sea days. wendycook22 Posted December 1, 2020 Author #8 Share Posted December 1, 2020 Thanks everyone. I usually do check the floor above and below my cabin selection. 🙂 It was 100% an oversight on my part. We are late night and early risers on vacation. I will maybe adjust it just to be safe. Thanks for your input, it is greatly appreciated.
chong67 Posted December 1, 2021 #9 Share Posted December 1, 2021 I got this room because its the cheapest one as the sail away rate. My cruise is Dec 11, 2021.

Generally speaking, we prefer a mid-ship location on Deck 5 on the *Away/+ ships where it has been quiet, few & little foot traffic and the noise from the atrium lobby/public area were seldom a problem for us (Breakaway & Escape) We're in the larger #5706 several years ago, just a few steps - in front of that white space on the deck plan are crew access only area, including sleeping cabins - not noisy at all, as best as I can recall, like doors being slammed. Loud music from the stage, theater and rehearsal area above weren't a problem for us, except for some heavier equipment on rollers, we believed they are likely stage sets being moved or setup, stored until the next time - being heard as they move them around, mid to late evening (always before midnight, probably no later than 11 pm) - doesn't bother the night owls, as it was brief and done quickly in a matter of minutes. Motion-wise in the event of rough sea states and waves, not a problem even with gale force cross wind on two Bermuda crossings. Never heard or felt the anchors being dropped or pulled up, which is more likely on the mid-sized ships in the fleet. The cabin location is closer to the limited access corridors and passage used mostly by crews only, and VIP/Haven guests for their "secret" access when escorted via exclusive elevators, i.e. priority tenders, embarkation & while waiting inside the theater for quick egress ... oops (enough "leaks")
chong67 Posted December 6, 2021 #11 Share Posted December 6, 2021 I never get to experience this 5100 room. I bid on $25 for balcony, but WIN $35 for Club Balcony Suite instead! So thats $70 for 2 pax. Now is the best to go on cruise, much less pax and easily win on the lowest bid! LETS GO!
