Even before Covid, Galveston has always been way more strict about check-in times, thank goodness. They had gotten embarkation down to a science. Every account I've read/seen so far about Vista's first sailing has indicated that nothing has changed much in that regard, and that embarkation was quick and easy. We'll be on Breeze in 17 days -- I'll let you know! 😁

Agreed re: Galveston embarkation, especially for Platinum/Diamond!  Please do let us know how everything goes for your Breeze cruise.

I watched a recent you-tube video from JJ Cruises, in which the 2 owners were on the 1st Vista cruise out of Galveston. They mentioned they had several issues from that 1st cruise. They said that embarkation was a mess in that people were showing up earlier than their check in times and that there were very long lines lasting up to a couple of hours to get checked in. They mentioned that dinner service be it in the main dining room or in a specialty restaurant took a minimum of 2 1/2 hours from start to finish. They mentioned that the casino bar in the casino was removed and that it took at a minimum of 30 minutes or longer to get a drink.

In spite of these problems, they still had a great cruise and commented about the great job the crew did under these circumstances. I am not offering any opinions because I was not on the cruise, but again went to JJ cruises on you-tube to watch these 2 owners talk about their sailing experience on that Vista 1st 2021 sailing.

I watched their video and  the casino bar complaint didn't make sense. They were upset the casino bar was removed.  They had drinks on us card and said it would take a server 30 mins to bring them their drinks, which yes is annoying but said they could have went to the bar and got drinks but you can not do that with the drink on us card. They also said that by the tides bar there was no bathroom outside and they and others were dripping wet walking thru the buffet to go to the bathroom and it was unsanitary. There is a bathroom outside between the pizza and seafood places so that's on them. After that comment I stopped watching.

We just got off the vista and my first impression was that it was business as usual. Other than the new muster process everything else was normal.

we had a great time. They do need to work on their technology. A lot of stuff just did not work.
I will do a full review later, just my first thoughts.

Does the Vista now have drink machines?  I recently saw a video of one of the ships that did…I can’t recall if they were doing that on all ships or just a few.

Two questions for those who have sailed on Carnival in July.

1) Could Platinums and Diamonds go directly to their cabins after checking in?

2) Please explain the new muster process. Go to assigned muster station to check in with crew and then watch the safety lecture on our cabin TV??

Thanks.

Masks in all three ports as well.  Not while on beach in Roatan.  Very strict in Belize.  No masks while snorkeling but back on when back on snorkle boat.  Everywhere in Coz.  Didn't do water things there so not sure their restrictions.

Was it "bubble excursions" only, or were you free to roam the ports?

Remember the tv channel line up?

People will go "HUH? Be by pool, blah, blah"

I get a balcony and like to watch some tv or movies as the ocean goes by, so I too am curious on TV line up.

Is it NYC still on the network stuff?

I have ADD/ADHD (originally called "Rambunctious") and can't sleep in a quiet room, so always audiobooks, radio or podcast. Least learn a little while falling asleep. LOL
