cbtravel1 Posted July 18, 2021 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2021 My final payment is coming due on my November cruise. My husband has, once again, decided that he doesn't want to go, I love cruising alone. In the past I have informed the cruise line at check-in that he would not be sailing. My question is, with the new covid regulations and protocols should I let Celebrity know ahead of time that my husband will not be sailing. Rare KKB Posted July 18, 2021 #2 Share Posted July 18, 2021 Yes, you need to let them know before final payment. Some cruises are seeing single rates--about 125% of your individual cost. (ie say it is $2K pp for a balcony; you may find a single rate at $2500) Call Celebrity & see if your cruise is offering these.

Rare Jim_Iain Posted July 19, 2021 #4 Share Posted July 19, 2021 I would definitely let them know and see if you can have him removed from reservation so you can get double points as a solo traveler. 3
wrk2cruise Posted July 19, 2021 #5 Share Posted July 19, 2021 Also the new check-in rules are that everyone on the reservation must be present to start the checkin process. While I'm sure they would eventually allow you to checkin solo it would generate a bunch of confusion at the terminal door.

Happy Cruiser 6143 Posted July 19, 2021 #8 Share Posted July 19, 2021 Even if you don't get a special solo rate, you will have one set of port charges deducted. And as mentioned above, you will get double Captains Club points for sailing solo.
