So excited you are on this 6-day itinerary so we can see and hear all about it!  We are on the 8/15 sailing and trying to learn all we can before. I have to admit I am getting a little nervous with the COVID variant and being so far from home if something happens. Continuing to watch…

Have a great cruise!

In my opinion, Horizon is special. Well worth the drive from Charleston for me. I’d do it again in an instant. Dunno if it’s because I haven’t cruised since 2019 or what, but it was special. The crew was amazing, the layout is amazing, the Havana area is amazing, so much seating everywhere. Loved it. Food was pretty meh though, but I don’t blame the ship for that.

This is interesting to hear. I would love to hear more about why you feel this way. We usually cruise out of Chas or Jax so usually Fantasy class (when they were in Chas) and Sunshine. We are sailing on Horizon on 8/15 and I (and even more so my husband) am not excited about the drive to Miami. The casino deal, the 95% vaccinated cruise, and the reduced sailing capacity all added up to enough things in the plus column to make me book it. But tell me something to make me excited enough to get over the dread of the drive!

Boy they really cram in those deck chairs LOL. I don’t think I would want to be that close to someone.  What happened to being 6ft apart from someone?

Those chairs are all stacked up and not in use - see the yellow strap on top of them?

Is that the Havana area?

No.  The Havana area was the aerial picture with the two oval hot tubs with the pool in the middle. Edit: back in posts 26, 27.

Any chance you can post a picture of some drink menus? Specifically wine and whiskey. Just wondering if price or selection has changed.

Hmmm I will try.   Very little in terms of menus.  Mostly qr links for smart phones.  Will give it a try tho

If you really are uncomfortable with closeness with what is going on, on a ship that is 95% vaxed, then you probably do not want to e on a cruise ahip.

Kind of a long winded answer.  We were supposed to have 12:30 check in as originally we were flying in day of (not my choice).  Since we did the Mardi Gras event we do e over from Ft myers and ended up at terminal at 10:40.  They added the Covid check in up front, maybe 15 minutes.  Then 15 minutes for check in.  It is now 12:50 and the ship is noticeably light.  I just looked out and see the lines outside  waiting to get in.

We're on board with you and it took us an hour to board and we had a 12:00 check in time and arrived on time!

Love all the pictures! We are on 8-14 Mardi Gras!! So excited!!

I appreciate you taking the time to do this so helpful!

My pleasure.  It has been a long time for us on a cruise.  Do not think I will take cruising for granted again.

Hey - are you giving the Chef's Table a try (if they're offering it onboard)? I'm just wondering if the menu has changed.

Following along.  We have been contemplating a cruise on Horizon, but don't want to drive to Miami, even though I grew up there.  Traffic is so bad.  We don't head to Ft. Lauderdale as much as we did, either.  It would take a special itinerary/ship for us to drive that far.  Enjoy your cruises!

Sunday morning, the highways  were wmpty
