Oasis of the Seas to pass under Verrazano Bridge Wed Aug 18 early morning ~ webcam viewing

If anyone is up early and would like to watch Oasis of the Seas pass under the Verrazano Narrows bridge you can watch live streaming on https://www.nyharborwebcam.com/

 

This should happen about 0630 - 0730 AM eastern Wed Aug 18 give or take. 

 

after she passes under the bridge you can watch her progress to her docking  on 

https://www.portnywebcam.com/

 

This is the first time an Oasis class ship will arrive in NJ/NY area

Nope. High tide at 0435, low tide at 1104.

As of this moment, she appears to be about 15nm away from the bridge chugging along at about 5kts. 
 

- now up to 6.5knts at 0550am local time

She continues to increase speed and is now up to almost 10knts inbound.

Up to 14kts and 10 miles from the bridge. She’ll definitely pass under by 7am and this rate.

No problem, I truly enjoy this excitement. I’ll keep updating as she approaches from the sea side of the bridge.

I did this with Explorer from Bayonne to Bermuda a while back and it was truly impressive.  It looked like we were going to hit the bridge but of course there was enough clearance.  Quite an experience!

Well, maybe farther east, but the farther north you go, in the summertime, it SHOULD get more sun, right?.....land of the midnight sun and all that, right? (talking about the northern parts of the world) But yeah, I guess east makes sense too......Nashville has a stupid early sunrise in the summer cuz its so east in Central time haha
