Wife Can't Go, Can I?

So my wife and I always have cruised together.  We booked a Sept cruise, simple 4 day with one of the Casino offers that she was sent - she always get's the best deals.  We just found out that her work is requiring her to be some where else and she can't go on the cruise, but I still want to go.  Will it be an issue if I just show up at the port to go, even though the rate we paid was based on her?

I haven't been a married man for very long....   My wife would kill me if she couldn't go and I went without her instead of rebooking it for later.

If its paid for, I don't think it matters if she's a no-show.

The offers always indicate the person receiving the offer must sail for those rates. They could just look the other way, or they could require full rate for two as you will be a single now. They could also do anything in between.

I would call the casino folks and see what they can offer. They might look at your play and make some concession to get you aboard. In the past they were willing to rebook without penalty for me when a last minute work schedule change meant I could not sail.

It could be.  Read your contract.

If it's a casino offer in her name idk if a no show works. I've read yes they dont say you cant board but any perks that came with the offer, obc or drinks isnt valid. But you can go and have her be a no show. After the cruise her taxes and fees are refunded to the card that paid them.

If this is her offer she has to go. Don’t try a no show. You will be billed full price for 2 cruisers I’d call and see if any other offer available.

This.  (At least as far as I know.)

Call Carnival and get it moved, claim you are having a hard time finding COVID tests in your area, etc.  They should accommodate moving it for you.

Or tell her work: We booked this time off.  If you are asking her to change it, you must pay for the money we lose.

So, I am the wife.  does anyone have personal experience with this situation?  Cruise was ultra cheap and I have a 6 day casino solo cruise Oct 31.  No big deal on hubby going solo on this one. (side note, he gambles more than i do when we cruise but he doesnt get any offers even though he uses his card in the casino.)

i cant find anything in the cruise contract for this cruise that says that I HAVE to board. Don't know if i'm missing it or what.

In the contract it does say the person who’s offer it is would have to be there

with that said I’ve read many many many posts on different casino sites and all the people did was have the one be a no show

I’ve NEVER read one post or comment from someone who was them charged double

could that happen?  Yes it’s in the contract…..Odds of it happening are slim to none

So nothing says we have to board together.  So if I board and she no shows, how do they charge me double rate?  I understand none of the perks may be given, like OBC drinks, etc.. and that's fine.  But once I am on board and she doesn't show by cut off time, do they come get me or something?

Same here. Heck, we got started cruising because my best friend's bachelor party was going to be a cruise and my wife was not happy I was going on one when she really wanted to go on one. Naturally I booked a cruise for the 2 of us 2 months before the bachelor party to make her happy. That was our 9th anniversary.

I also wouldn't want to go solo. I'd have to fill that 2nd spot (which I realize you can't, but still).

As posted and highlighted above

The rate was tied to the offer so wife doesn't show the offer goes byebye.

Technically they should/could charge you current rates , but as suggested call carnival or the casino department.

I get what you are saying.  But my question is how do they charge me?  Do they not allow me to board until she is there? Because if I am on board, then what, do they come find me and demand money.. etc. But I don't see anything that says all members of the party have to be present to board or check in at the same time.. so unless they won't allow me to check in without her then I don't see how they can charge me anything.. so i am confused on that part.. I understand the concept and theory, just curious how they carry it out.
