I have had guest relations OBC granted for a poor excursion experience.  I am sure it is used for other things as well.

Thanks so much! You triggered a memory! I was on the Breakaway last year and paid for their Cirque dinner show....both show and food were terrible! I notated this on my survey that was emailed to me after I got home. I was told I'd receive an OBC!

Does LATDBLX mean double points if in Haven which gets double points anyway? 15 day cruise in Haven equals 30 points everyday but does this code mean 60 points?

I'm in an Affinity group in a balcony cabin, and don't have the BC at the end of the code, I have OC.

I was told by my PCC that each code stands for what was selected as a perk (see pic).  And since I chose onboard credit for my bonus amenity (see right column), my code is OC. 

 

 Even so, it's possible that BC also stands for onBoard Credit but a different value. I know for a fact our group leader has higher values of perks. So it's possible that the original poster of the code was the group leader and their code for onboard credit bonus amenity is BC. Just a theory.  

 

But I'm fairly sure that the BC doesn't stand for balcony.

The story:  We sailed the PR1MA:  T/A NYC to Reykjavik
The port visit to ISAFJORDUR was canceled, instead we stayed in AKUREYRI for an overnite, just before the "bad weather" approached, we pulled out.
The sea (North Atlantic in May) was angry, and as such we were in a 13  hour + or - holding pattern staying out of harms way.

side note: as rough as the seas appeared the PR1MA handled it extremely well, is this a function of it's new design?

The result was we arrived in Reykjavik at about 3AM, thus the scheduled overnite in Reykjavik didn't happen, we disembarked @ the normal time and we stayed in a hotel (our NORMAL practice on Cruises with destinations ending or starting far from home.. spend a few days to sightsee / adjust and allow for flight problems). 

inconvenience factor for us:  MINIMAL

increase in NCL loyalty for us: MAXIMUM

before arrival in Reykjavik the ships captain 'signed' a letter explaining the "50% and 25% compensation".  Anxious to understand the 'deal' and cruise some more..... We checked with Cruise Next, the effective date of the letter was a month in the future, so NO BOOKING(s) @ that time.  Of course once back home and settled in, we called our NCL 'consultant' and she hooked us up with these AMAZING discounts..

In summary.... this summer we planned on staying home,  but instead we'll be spending it on 2 more NCL cruises!

They aren't discount codes that you apply.  They are the codes that NCL applies to your reservation to keep track of the various promos that are applicable to your reservation.

Jill, what was the benefit to "re-pricing" your cruise? Did you originally book through NCL or a travel site? We booked directly with NCL but did not use our NCL cruise consultant and wondered if there was any benefit to doing a re-price. Thanks!

Generally, after I book I will check the fare weekly to see if there has been a price decrease. In this case, we did see two price drops which resulted in $650 (Cdn) savings vs the price we initially booked at. 

 

To be fair, this rarely happens... we generally find that we book well enough in advance (I admit, I am a planner) and the fares generally increase before final payment. 

 

I have booked both direct with NCL and using a US-based online agency in the past. This was the first time I booked in Canadian dollars through a big box agency. The fare was pricing out the same as NCL online but with a shop card after the cruise (the amount of which decreased along with the price drops but well worth it).

 

It's always worth checking prior to final to see if you can save!

I have a code GRLOBC25 listed under My Account on the NCL website. When I called NCL to upgrade my cabin, I noticed that code wasn't on my old or new invoice. When I asked about it, she could not see it on her end.  What to do?

That code would correspond to a $25 On Board Credit (non-refundable).  It would typically be given by NCL for an unsatisfactory experience, i.e., a poor Shore Excursion or similar.  If it is showing under your account login they should be able to apply it to your cruise.  I would call back and ask to have the issue escalated if needed.  You could offer to send them a screenshot if they can't see it.

 don't see it listed in myncl anywhere. I asked the TA to send me the NCL booking confirmation and it's listed on the first page, on the right-hand side under promo codes.
