I usually book with casino rates. I went to see about booking this cruise with a casino rate at the last minute. I was pretty happy with it, but then I saw the price with the cheers! included promo. I paid $140 more and lost $25 OBC. So for $33 a day I now have cheers!. I can make that profitable. I have already started with a milkshake. It was a nice treat!

Booking so last minute I did have to move rooms. I went from an inside on deck 3 to an inside on deck 2. I booked with no solo supplement so I can't be too picky about the room (it was the only room left with a solo rate available). I am very far forward, have a single bed (which doesn't face the tv 😱) and I expect it will likely be loud when the ship is in motion. But it was a pretty darn good rate especially as it was not a casino deal.

Despite the move to a different deck, I have the same cabin steward. That is insane that he has two decks assigned to him.

Going to play with my newly connected phone for a bit then think about some lunch and muster. I wasn't quick enough to avoid the crowds it is already jumping out there.

Is Patrick your room steward?  I had him the cruise prior to yours (8/28-9/2), I was in cabin 2202.  He said he handled 16 cabins on deck 3 and 6 on deck 2 if I remember correctly.

I didn't love the single bed either, though I did bring my pillow from home which helped a little.  My tv was located off to the left at the foot of the bed, so watching it wasn't terrible.

Casino slots were very very tight.  Almost laughably so.

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Grabbed a mimosa at the lobby bar. Need to remember to get them at casino bar, it is rung up at a higher price and presumably uses a better champagne. Its all free to me so why not upgrade.

At red frog now for trivia. Three other groups right now. I really really want to win a ship on a stick!

I didn't win any of the drawings but I can hope right lol. I did find a duck today.

The water was completely flat today. It looked like we were sailing through a lake today.

lol I wonder if this is from the 2021 sailing or a long lost duck from 2012 😅

I'm terrible with names but I don't think that is it. I don't think my guy has an American name plus I'min the odd hallway not even. Sounds like the same room amount though as he only has the front 6 cabins on this deck. Not as bad as it seemed when I thought he had all of deck 2.

Its a strange setup because I have only seen him one time. When i locked myself out of the room and the steward servicing my neighbors room called him down to let me in. If I didn't know the situation I would think I have a ninja steward who cleans my room but is never actually around.

I moved my bed 90° so that it now directly faces the TV. I still have ton of floor space it just wouldn't work if someone were using the couch as a second bed.

The casino has been pretty tight for me too but not horribly so. I had 850 OBC last week so I played on their money. This week I'm not really playing.

Good catch I didn't even notice that. This duck just became even more special.

Bar bill would have been 49.45 yesterday. I did not count my first drink since my platinum benefit would have covered that anyway.  If I was paying full price for cheers I would not be breaking even.

I was also charged for a naked juice. They said it was not covered. I let it go but when I looked online under does not include it says nothing about juices not being covered. Under included it specifically says all non alcoholic bottled drinks.

So that would exclude fresh squeezed juice if you wanted to really split hairs, but my juice was in a bottle and was non alcoholic. I'm probably going to politely bring it up to guest services. I don't want my money back, but if it is going to be excluded it needs to say so in the terms.

Good luck winning a ship on a stick. I know the feeling.

I finally tried the lucky bowl for lunch. I got the schezuan pork.

I'm really glad I finally made it here. It's not what you think of eating in this heat but it was so so good. This would be perfect on a cold weather cruise.

I got a little bit from the buffet. It was as bad as it looks.

Carnival has the worst buffet. But they have so many other choices that overall they have the best lunch time options.  I've sent the complaints about the buffet and I just don't get why anyone would eat here with all the other choices.

I also got a piece of cake for dessert.

Walked around on deck for a while this afternoon soaking in the fresh air while avoiding the sun as much as possible.

Putting on my afternoon movie now while listening to the anchor being lifted. Its much quieter coming up than when they drop anchor. Be prepared if you book low and forward that you will here an ungodly sound when that anchor drops.

I didn't see my room steward other than when he introduced himself and then on day 2 when he checked if I needed anything.  I think he spent most of his time on deck 3 where the majority of his cabins are.

It's nice you had so much obc on your first leg to use in the casino.  I lost so much I just got an offer for a comped suite and $1,000 in casino cash to use within 3 months.  I likely won't be able to indulge that soon.

I actually won the ship on a stick, trivia session had only three teams and I was the only solo team.  Bucket list item...check... lol.

Btw - I see you like cake.  If you're a fan of chocolate you want to try the chocolate melting cake in the dining room which is less cake, but more gooey souffle.

Reminds me of the very first ship on a stick that I won. At first I was the only person there to play, and was told that I was obviously going to win. And then a couple more contestants showed up, but I still won and in fact had more right than both of them put together.

And I second the thought on chocolate melting cake. The only problem with it is if you keep ordering it every night, you don't get to try out the other desserts.🤣

Watching the movie i forgot the plat/diamond party was today. It was at 4:30 and the light bulb went off in my head around 5. I'm so used to it being in the last night oops.

At dinner now. Went to the MDR tonight. This is their strongest menu. Service is so attentive so far I haven't been able to post an update until just now.

Yea i saw him every day last week. That's why I think this is a weird setup having your cabins spread across decks. If I didn't know better I would just think I had a no show steward.

My offer was for 35% off. I have so many comps booked right now between carnival and royal I don't think I will use my offer either.

Love the WMCC. I'm mostly doing specialty this cruise so I will probably miss it. I'll be sure to try it when I come back in October though. I agree it is delicious. I usually get two ice creams as if I wasn't getting enough sugar already lol.

For my starter I ordered the meatballs and mozzarella sticks.

Not as good as Nona's  but still very good.

20210908_181806.thumb.jpg.a348cd6cd8c653ab3833e074d592f1bf.jpg

For my main I ordered the beef tenderloin.

20210908_182640.thumb.jpg.d080344d77fa345d7b8612c6fc6e29ee.jpg

And for dessert I ordered bitter n blanc and the double roasted pineapple.

I also enjoyed two martinis. The first was one I've wanted to try for a while but it sounded weird. This is a spicy Chipotle pineapple.

Omg yum. That was so good.

This one is a tiramisu martini.

I listened to the guitarist for a while then headed up to serenity and had a very serene evening. I meant to go watch love and marriage but I was to relaxed.

I watched a bit of the deck party and headed back to the room. So much relaxing I may have another restless night but it beats work or cooking in the sun any day 🙂

See yall in the morning.
