well I gave in and charged another 100 to use up my obc. Didn't win but at least I got to play on it for a while

According to guest services we are sailing with 1845 guests. That is just under 62%.

Even with my nap I need sleep. I think tomorrow the plan is to head to atlantis. See yall tomorrow

There have been people on other threads posting that OBC cannot be used in the casino. I guess you just have shown that that is not true.

you cannot charge your room and then cash it out for the money. They will lock your card for doing that. I have had that happen to me when I was just changing machines because the buttons were not working on the game I picked.

I am a degenerate gambler and enjoy casino rates, believe me I used every bit of the 850 OBC I had on this booking 🙂

I just did not come out of my own pocket so I consider that a win still. 😆

Can you please shed some light on this because I have seen differing posts.

1) If you use the OBC to get chips at a table, I understand you get hit with a 3% (?) charge. Can you just take those and cash them in?

2) If I use the OBC at a slot machine, there will be no conversion charge, but my card will be locked if I immediately cash out...what exactly does this mean? You just can't gamble anymore but you still get the cash? Any other negatives?

3) How long do you need to gamble at the slots to not get your card locked?

Thanks in advance!

Kevin

The folks seen to be trying to be polite about it but once again there are groups of people at guest services upset that their children are not being allowed off the ship.

I just don't understand how you get through the process of getting an exemption but don't know your unvaccinated kids will not be allowed off the ship without a bubble tour booked.

Glad you are enjoying this fabulous Cruise. If/When you get a chance would you mind posting a photo of the Guys Burger with Buns in tact (hopefully I am not asking you for too much). I have family members that will be cruising for the first time and they want to see what the full Guys Burger looks like.

Thanks

1. I have never heard of that not being allowed so I imagine that would work. Expect some confusion if you immediately cash out though. Maybe consider finding an empty table to do that also you don't holdup game play 🙂

2. You will have to have the cashier unlock your card to make any further casino transactions including cashing out. No real negatives here but it is certainly frowned upon.

3. I've heard just a few spins will work but I don't have first hand knowledge of that.

Eventually this will cause gamblers to have to pay a service charge. Someing to consider if you have multiple cruises booked is to buy gift cards at the cherry on top store. You can then apply that gift card to your cruise balance.

I will get one tomorrow in the name of research. 🙂

We got a cab at the port and did a tour for 3 hours around the island. The cost was 30 pp and we had a great driveway showed us around.

We did stop at Atlantis for a little while. The aquarium was nice to look at my pics don't really capture how pretty it was.

It is now a 2 day test. Where can you get tested & get result back in time? We are cruising in 14 days.

If you are vaxxed you can get a rapid test. Unvaxxed (with exception) you get 72hrs

We are vaccinated & having trouble finding a place to get tested for the 2 day testing requirement & get it back in time. Yes there are rapid tests, but around here rapid is 24 to 48 hrs. Not good enough if you would like it in hand before heading to Galveston. We have the self tests, but those are not doing us any good.

I got my results in 25 hours and M got hers back in about 48. We both used CVS. That is cutting it too close for comfort so I purchased the at home kits from emed.com. They are approved but will take a day or two to arrive.

They are cost effective for me as I have a lot of cruises coming up but I do believe you can only purchase them in a 6 pack

If that is too many I would bite the bullet and get an appointment at a urgent care center or airport or somewhere in your area that offers rapid testing for a fee. Either way I think the only options are to gamble on the results coming back in time or to pay for a test.

Not great options either way but this will hopefully only be temporary.

I just got paged to guest services. I had to go to the medical center for a covid test. Strange that there was no notice of that in my b2b paperwork but I am glad to see that being done on board now. It shows that they are working to adjust protocols based 8n feedback. Great job carnival

On a side note, I have had several tests done now for travel and this lady was rough. Ouch. Fingers crossed for good news I have three more cruises in the next 14 days. 🙂

CVS gives results for rapid tests in a few hours.

Was this rapid or PCR? I got my PCR results back from CVS in about 24hrs...but the rapid results are supposed to be returned in a few hours

HMC was nice. I'm not a beach person but I told M I'd go with her since its her birthday tomorrow. It was not too hot so that was nice. I'm sure I'm still going to burn 🔥

Starving now so in search of some food.

I guess you don't care for the food at HMC
