Just got off Horizon Sept 18th and your review was quite the guide i needed before i left. Was full of useful information i put to good use. Shame they did not have the ship map cards. Thanks Again. I see your sailing ahead of us on Mardi Gras were on in May of 2022 so i'll sure look forward to your review of that ship.

Thanks Matt

We're so glad that you found our review helpful. That's what doing these reviews are all about. Hopefully we'll be able to help out again for your May cruise on the Mardi Gras. 👍😎

Jeff,

I really appreciate the thorough reviews and all the great pictures.  I am sailing on Horizon the end of November and after reading your latest review, I feel like I already know my way around.  I have also booked a 12 day Scandinavian cruise on the Pride for next June 17-July 01 of 2022.  Two questions...Have you guys ever done that Scandinavian itinerary (St. Petersburgh (overnight), Finland, Sweden, 2 stops in Germany and Copenhagen). If so, do you have a review on that?  Also, just curious why the Pride is your favorite ship.  I tend to like the larger ships I have cruised on.  Thanks and keep up the great work!!!

Hey Carl! Glad you enjoyed the review and found it helpful. We have not yet done a Scandinavian cruise though it may be in our future plans. We love the Pride because she is a Spirit Class ship. Perfect size, and she never seems crowded even if sailing at capacity. Plus, you can walk from bow to stern on every deck so very easy to get around. We are looking forward to sailing on her sisters, the Miracle in two weeks,  and the Legend next August. 😎

Hi Carl - are you doing the St. Petersburg itinerary out of Dover? We did that sailing on Legend in 2013, and with some searching I found my review: https://boards.cruisecritic.com.au/topic/1814587-carnival-legend-july-3-15-2013-the-baltic-blowout/.  I don't think the ports are quite the same (we didn't port in Sweden), but you might find it helpful. And we've sailed on 3 of the 4 Spirit-class ships - love them. (Hope you don't mind the OT post, Jeff.🙂)

Glad to see you're back in the game again. We did a roadtrip to the Keys and St Pete at the end of August. Than we finally got on the Pride, Sept 19. What a great feeling to be back. You still did a great job on your review. My husband and I stop at Kingsland also. This time we didn't do Country Inn. When I checked to see if they were still running strong, a couple bad reviews came up. So we did Best Western next door. They were great too and the same price range. Next time we make the trip in February if Paradise isn't cancelled we'll try them again. Again, thanks for the review.

Thanks for reading! We had no issues with Country Inn and will continue to use them. 😎

We'll probably use them again on our next trip. Thanks for setting me straight. We never had any problems with them. Their reviews had disappeared totally except for a months worth of newer. I got spooked on that one. I get paranoid after one terrible experience in another hotel.

OMG Jeff and Patti! How I’ve missed your reviews! I haven’t looked at Cruise Critic since shortly after the pandemic started, but I often wondered how you too were handling the cruise withdrawal! LOL so imagine how excited to see your review! Read it all in one sitting! And now you are already on another cruise! Look forward to your account your October adventures.. hope you and your family stayed healthy. I haven’t cruised since Dec 2019, but we are booked on Canada/New England in Aug 2022 on Caribbean Princess. Great review and wonderful pictures. Stay safe!

Jeff,

Do you know if Carnival is still giving priority boarding for people booking the casino Premier Cruises?

To tell you the truth I haven't seen anyone except suites have priority boarding in the four cruises we've been on since the start up.😎

Hey Jay! Not quite sure who you mean, but the fact that I'm in a food coma having just left the Steakhouse, and am working on my third at Alchemy doesn't help my cause. 😜

Hi Jeff, fyi, South of the Border is being torn down & I heard being rebuilt.

I'm glad you put in hotel reviews in with your cruise reviews. It's a big help. Another fyi, If you ever need to stay near Savannah, Country Inn & Suites in Pooler Ga is a dump. We've stayed there several times in the past, but our stay in Oct. hotel has really gone down hill.

Didn't know that about South of the Border. Don't know why they would rebuild it. Thanks for the heads up on the Pooler location. We always use the Kingsland one.:classic_cool:

Thanks for the great review!  We are set to sail the Horizon for 6 days in just over a week, and just booked the same 8 day itinerary you sailed for next year.

I've been really nervous about the Vista class ships with the more crowded passenger ratioss, but your review makes me feel a little more confident in our choices!

I hope you see this message,  I thought I would ask here as I didn't want to interrupt your Miracle/Panorama review. I am going on the same cruise in December and was wondering how you booked your day pass in Aruba at the Radisson? TY.

Hi there! Thanks for posting your question on this thread. We booked the Radisson Blu Aruba through resortpass dot com. Have a great cruise! 🤗

Thank you for posting this great review.  I love all of the pictures.  I am thinking of booking this itinerary for August 2023.  We have never cruised during the summer months.   How was the weather overall?

Thank you so much for the great review, glad it popped up again so I could read it. Do you remember when the cabanas for Amber Cove showed up in shore excursions? We are doing the same cruise but not until 2024, I would definitely like to book one, especially after your rave review and pics.

I am following along on your California adventure too, the hubby and I will be on the Panorama for the Sailabration cruise in March. Our return to cruising was delayed an extra two years so it will be 14 years, I think this one is really going to happen, can’t wait!
