Day # 7  -  Amber Cove  -  (9am – 6pm)  -  8/27/21

 

We were up at 6:30am to a beautiful sunny day…..

We are almost in. It is only 8am, so the Captain got us here an hour early…..

 

 

Patti took some long range shots of the port. Here is the port entrance and the line of pedicabs. The pier is very long, so we will be utilizing those pedicabs…..

We are off the ship at 8:45am…..

 

 

We grabbed a pedicab. There is no charge, so they rely on tips. We tipped our drivers $10 each way…..

 

 

They drop you off right at the entrance….

Every time we are here we try to reserve a Pool Cabana, and today is no exception. This is Ramires who will taking us to our cabana……

Ramires leads us over to the rental hut first to sign some papers and leave a $20 key deposit, which we will get back at the end of the day providing we don’t lose the key!

 

 

We pass the Coco Cana Bar and Restaurant. All our drinks and food will come from there……

We meet our waiter for the day, Angel, and we order our first drinks…..

 

 

Here are all the menus that we can order from. These are not included with the cabana, so extra charge…..

 

 

 

 

 

Our drink order has arrived. Patti ordered a pina colada, and I ordered a bucket of Presidente beer…..

We had that same cabana when we sailed Horizon in 2018.

Loved our day there, the cabana was a nice treat with drinks brought right to you!

The pool was great, my wife loved the zip line and the slides.

We have it reserved again for next June on our MG sailing.

So looking forward to it all!

I am thoroughly enjoying the review and photos, and it is helping me plan our turn in 24 days.  Did you use the $8 a day WiFi at Amber Cove?  I saw the kiosk for $5 WiFi on my way back to the ship at Mahogany Bay last week 🙄

We love the pool cabanas and rent one every time we go to Amber Cove. We have one reserved next April on the Mardi Gras. We wouldn't bother with the hillside or water cabanas. 😎

I used the WIFI to check emails back home and it was pretty good. The WIFI was free with our cabana. Enjoy your cruise! 😎

Yes, you book them through Carnival's shore excursions. Book early, the pool cabanas sell out fast since there are only four of them.

This is the VIP Reserved area for those who have paid for their loungers and umbrella, or who have rented a pool cabana…..

 

 

 

 

Patti has made it back to our cabana…..

 

 

I have to stop here for a moment and give a huge shout out to my beautiful wife Patti. She deserves most of the credit when we do these reviews, as she does all the leg work in getting all these beautiful pictures that you see here. For example, she spent well over an hour documenting just about everything in Amber Cove, climbing up and down steps, and moving from one end to the other, just to bring you all the pictures you have seen here on the preceding pages. Me, I hung out in the pool and drank beer! Thanks Babe! I couldn’t do these reviews without you!

 

We were getting hungry so we placed our order with Angel. About twenty minutes later our food had arrived. Patti had the grilled chicken quesadillas……

 

 

I had the Chicharron sampler, which is basically fried pork belly and tostones…..

 

 

We enjoyed the rest of our day relaxing and having drinks on our deck, and taking dips in the pool…..

 

 

 

 

Around 4:30 we decided to head back to the ship. Our food, drinks, and tip came out to $85. Thanks Angel, for your great service all day!  We stopped by the rental hut and got our $20 key deposit back. We had a great day, and already have a Pool Cabana reserved when we come back here in April on the Mardi Gras.

 

We were back on board a little before 5pm, and when we got back to the cabin, laundry that Patti had sent out last evening was waiting for us…..
