What is the best way to make your show reservations? If it’s the app is it difficult to fine and make your selections?

I'm not remembering them available to book on the app.  They say they are not putting them out on the app before sail because so much changing so they say they don't know until the last minute.  Once booked through the kiosk, they show up on the app.  Do to weather we had a couple canceled and they would automatically move you to the next showing.

Please excuse the delays.

We are headed to Thrill Water

Park.  That slide is not that tall. We should be able to handle it.

If you want to ride this to the park, they pick you up at the back gangway.

I didn't notice the sanitation station.  We are walking into sanitize sanitize world instead of washie washie.

Maybe the slides are tall.  Will we make it to the top.

The area had a towel station and lockers.

This is the wave pool before the waves started. When it gets going it will have nice waves but not like Disney's wave pool. The waves go in all directions.  I was looking forward to body surfing like we do at Disney.  I was only able to get in one 25 foot run.  They had two shut it down twice due to kids loosing it in the waves.

There were plenty of chairs.

Also where the wrecked Volkswagen Bug is at is where you can do the muster drill.

Does EVERYONE do the muster drill there, or only people with assigned stations there?

(I was under the impression that everyone had to go to their actual Muster Station location to "check in" to prove that you knew where to go in the event that they sound the alarm.)

When we boarded we were directed to there with no appointment and we had not watched any video. At least an hour later folks were still going there.  We were told where our muster station was but we never had to go there.

It was so easy and I was surprised we didn't have to watch the video. One crew member rattles off what they have to say while another does the life jacket thing.  So much nicer than the the old days too.  After you have cruised a few times, it's like sitting through the flight attendant telling you what we need to do if we crash into the ocean even if you are not flying over water!

It would be nice if they get to the point that all you have to do is flash your "Diamond" (or higher) status level and they realize that you've heard the little speech just as many times as they've given the little speech!

My first flight on Air New Zealand, I, like so many others, ignored the life jacket spiel, until I heard the last sentence. It went something like “And that’s why our oxygen flow is completely different from all others. If you don’t know how to get it started, you’ll be in trouble.  Thank you for paying attention. It could save your life.”

I and most everyone else hit the Call button.

And, no, there was nothing different.

I have a few more hours sitting in the airport so here we go.

There are two sets of slides. I didn't think I could shoot much sliding down the biggest slide so I left the phone. I wish I would of taken it.  Here are pics from the smaller slides.

This is a view of where the CocoCay employees stay.

We are actually flying to San Juan two days before the sailing so we have some wiggle room. Decided to do the retirement party after we get back. We felt to stay safe from covid even though vaccinated, better to not have a party with over 100 people in close proximity.

I wouldn't worry too much about flying SWA at this point.  The current situation should just be a short term blip.  I'd guess that it will be resolved with flights returning to normal in a week.  Even in "normal" times though, I'd look to see when the next SWA flight to San Juan would be.  Some low cost airlines don't fly multiple times a day, or even every day, from an airport and they will only put you on their next available flight...even if that's a couple of days later.  That was the problem that we had with Allegiant out of Cincinnati.  If a flight got cancelled, they'd offer to rebook you 2 days later.

Update: I just checked the SWA web site and it looks like there are several flight a day out of MCI that could get to SJU.  Unless they are all booked, they should be able to get you there later on the same day...or worst case sometime on the following day.

Thanks Bob. I think we will keep our current SWA tickets but at least have some backup flights in our mind.

Oh btw, Good luck in the Superbowl. I knew the Bills would win last night but I did not know that they would destroy the Chiefs. Great game played your Bills.

Just curious if there was the love and marriage game show during your sailing. Me and my husband sail leaving October 16th for our honeymoon cruise!

I don't think it showed.  I have enjoyed it in the past. If we noticed it I think we would of gone.  @Lionesss is on Symphony right now and I am sure would check for you.  Look for the UFO live review.
