Princess411 Posted October 14, 2021 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2021 Any recommendations for a hotel near Port Canaveral with free shuttle to the port
evandbob Posted October 14, 2021 #2 Share Posted October 14, 2021 We recently stayed at a Wyndham Hotel that offered parking, breakfast and a shuttle. Had to call the hotel, couldn't book the package on line, but cost was reasonable. Shuttle left for the port at 10:30AM, went to main port area first, then Mardi Gras pier 2nd. About a 10 minute drive without traffic backups. Returns were at 8, 9 and 10AM, driver recommended we do earliest possible time, so we were off ship before 8am using diamond walk off priority. Some of the popular ones that are also “closest to the port” that had that option (at least pre-Covid) are Country Inn & Suites, Residence Inn and Radisson At The Port. Ashland Posted October 14, 2021 #4 Share Posted October 14, 2021 We've opted for the Home2Suites after much research...but we will have a rental car (MCO pick up) for our pre-cruise trip to KSC and return it morning of cruise.
KeepCalmBearOn Posted October 15, 2021 #5 Share Posted October 15, 2021 Homewood Suites, SpringHill Suites and Home2Suites are all nice and include breakfast. Pretty much all the hotels have nominal charges for the cruise port shuttle, $6-10 per person.
pbenjamin Posted October 15, 2021 #6 Share Posted October 15, 2021 Does anyone here know if Holiday Inn Club Vacations Cape Canaveral Beach Resort has a shuttle? There is no mention on its website.

pbenjamin Posted October 16, 2021 #8 Share Posted October 16, 2021 Thanks, that's what I figured. I'm assuming that taxi or Lyft will be easy to come by. (FYI I recognize you from the Tripadvisor Newport Beach page. I post as ratinthekitchen there.)
watcher_62 Posted October 19, 2021 #9 Share Posted October 19, 2021 First time thru Port Can. Flying into MCO at 9pm and have to stay overnight. Should we travel the port that night and book a hotel at the port, or stay at the airport and travel to the port in the am?

With an arrival time that late...stay at or near by MCO...Many hotels to choose from and many have comp shuttles to their hotel from MCO.

They will either add it into the price of the room or charge per person to take the shuttle to the ship. Depending on how many people there are it may be cheaper to just take a cab. There were three of us and shuttle from the hotel was eight dollars per person but instead of paying $24 we got a taxi for only 10 bucks for all of us. So we took your advice and booked thru Choice Air at the Renaissance with next day transfers!

We are thinking a taxi from our hotel to the port instead of hotel shuttle service. Are taxis readily available or did the hotel desk call for one? Thank you for your reply, I figured it would be like Miami, some hotels there are taxis waiting but a few others we have had to call for service.
