Free cruise from land casino. An option is 4 day to Haiti on Oasis. Haiti?!?!

Free annual cruise for being a MGM Platinum tier (3-5 days).

I sail NCL and Celebrity.

I have never sailed Royal before.

 

April 3, 2022 on Oasis:

Labadee, Haiti  

 

Has anyone been there post Covid?

Also, 6 months away. Anything can happen like Royal changing the port due to political unrest.

If i don't like the change and cancel, i waste the free cruise certificate. (i cant re-use the certificate)

 

Worth the risk to book it?

or choose something else. (male, going solo)

Risk of what? The port opening by next April? Don't book or not book because of Labadee. In the pandemic era, there's risk in every booking.

BOOK IT ASAP. Oasis class ships are awesome. Port's are a 2nd thought when sailing this class of ship.

 

Odds are it will get bumped to another Island , preferably Coco Cay. I sail in Dec and my itinerary still show Labadee, no way they go there this year or next.

Labadee is Royal Caribbean's private resort area that although is in Haiti it basically has nothing to do with Haiti. Think of it as a private island but it's actually attached to mainland Haiti. It's a beautifully designed well maintained resort featuring multiple beaches, shops, a zipline and many other resort island features. It's a gated compound and there's no way to go beyond the gates into Haiti proper. It's their version of Great Stirrup Cay on NCL.

I loved oasis. Ship is the destination. Dont count on labadee. I've been and you cant get to any other place from there in Haiti. I did a small boat ride along the coast as that's the best you can do to see anything there. 

 

I expect them not to allow ships there, but who knows. It's pretty isolated from the rest of Haiti.

I thought I read Port Au Prince was taken over and RCCL was trying to get it back.

Haiti is the worst country in the western hemisphere. Labadee has been overrun by haitians. RCCL is not going back for a LONG LONG time!!! Book your cruise because RCCl is not going to Haiti. Cozumel is the substituted port.
