Where should I begin?  Thursday’s COVID Test was a snap.  Time to relax and prepare for days of being catered to.  Too excited to sleep on Friday.  I was awake at 3 am…let’s check….wrong!

Internet package removed for the second time.  Still can’t get back into the green lane.  Might as well go back to sleep and call Princess at 8 am on Saturday Hours before departure.  CSR willingly connects me to OCEAN.  I get disconnected.  Called back and asked CSR to stay with me until I am connected.  Very nice CSR.  Not so nice OCEAN person.  “Sorry.  What do you want me to do.”  I said “Fix the problem.”  “Sorry, I can’t do that”.  I give up and hang up.  Surprise, surprise, surprise…I’m back in the green lane.

Driver gets us to the port slightly after 10.  Too early, I think.  Porter takes my luggage.  We check in.  Yay…breezed through, easy peasy.  Given a suite boarding pass. Mind you, I have a blue medallion.  Walk up to person just before security.  My cabin mate is given a Platinum boarding card.  I stop to explain that my medallion is the wrong color.  That we should be given an Elite card.  No sense trying to argue with a brick wall.

Security…oops.  I forgot to tell them about me expensive titanium knees.  In all the confusion, they forget about my one bottle of wine.  No wine table.

Enter elite/suite lounge by 10:30. It is empty and 2 staff manning the coffee and pastries.  Shortly after that, a staff from MDR with his formal attire on, made a beeline to us (medallion ID?).  He informed us that he would be taking our carry ons and escorting us to our suite.  That’s a first for me.  Nice touch Princess.  In cabin by 11:15.

First visit to the front desk to make sure my credit card is valid and registered.  While I was there, I decided I should replace my medallion.  There are less than 700 passengers on the cruise. Then off to the Internet cafe to straighten out my account.  All is good. I can sign on.  Unable to see if credit is refundable.  The Medallion Net I purchased for my cabin mate is being credited to her account.

Called down to the naughty room. They politely asked me to let them hold my cheap IKEA power strip.  No surge protector, just three outlets.  Sure.  Then I haul my luggage upstairs rather then wait for it to be delivered.  I’m unpacked before cabin mate’s luggage appears.

Mini bar exchanged for 2 coffee cards.  Front desk called me almost immediately to let me know that $31 would be charged to my account but will be removed within the dayish.  Tonight, no evidence of charge on account.

Safety drill was so much nicer.

Where were the Cruise Cruise peeps that were suppose to meet by the aft pool?  I had planned to wave to a friend on the Majestic.  Foiled by fuel barge (starboard promenade closed off)….then Majestic left first.  GRRRR. I had such big plans.

Finally decompressed by the end of Sunday evening from all the Medallion Class app issues.  Sigh, time to kick back and enjoy this b2b.  Life is good.  What I don’t partake in this week, I’ll do next week.

Staff has been wonderful. Kind of scary that they identify you by name, but also a nice personal touch.  Room steward is super considerate.  He said he services most of the suite on different decks.  He does have a helper.

San Diego weather is spectacular.  Half way walk over to Seaport Village, I remember that they used to have a free shuttle.  Yes, still valid.  Google Seaport Village.

MDR food has been much better.  Smaller portions which is fine with me.  I am not a buffet person, but it was better than I had expected with small plate offerings.

Apologies for the length, but I had to work around Cruise critic and Medallion net.  Composing on my iPad, send to phone, copy and paste cc with cell service.  There’s always a fix.

Haha that part I know. I’m wondering if I have to disembark at all. It’d be great if I can just stay onboard.

They usually have all b2b folks meet somewhere, (you will get a letter) so they can briefly walk off the ship. Once the passenger count is zeroed out, you will be the first to walk back on.

You have to clear CBP with the other B2B'ers, right?  A neg result should be situation normal and a pos result means you get the bum's rush.

Last time I checked the Vista Lounge was located on the ship.

Well maybe the Vista lounge for the test but I've been on dozens of these San Pedro turn around and you leave everything on the ship but leave with your passport and wait until the ship clears and then back on maybe 30 minutes

What deck are you looking down on?

I thought the only open balconies were on Dolphin and I don't remember those balconies being large enough to have two chairs, a table AND 2 loungers!

Also, I have a question - on Celebrity if you are on a B2B but are shown as having come in contact with a Covid positive passenger on your first cruise - even if you subsequently test negative - you are STILL not allowed to continue on to your second cruise. They let you complete the first cruise (after the negative test) but you must disembark at the end of #1. I'm hoping Princess doesn't have this policy - have you heard anything either way?

Are the public areas still set for sub-zero temperature wise (dining room, theatre, etc.)  With so few on board, I'[m wondering if it's even colder than usual?  I'm packing for Wednesday's departure and it's cold (for SD anyway) today and I keep trying to talk myself out of sweaters.  I'm rolling my eyes at myself. I asked a friend how many sweaters I should take and her helpful answer was between zero and none.
