Everyone I speak to says it is not possible to pay for upgrade. 1 hour ago, kwokpot said: Correct, there is no paid upgrade. If you want a different cabin class it is repriced at current BCC rates and a small credit from the comped cabin you received is deducted from the new cabin class. So the BCC reps are correct, it's not an upgrade in the traditional sense. Additionally, comped cruise offers are cabin only without all included. Once you ask for another cabin class the repricing will be for a cabin with all included. They do offer an upgrade to AQ class from comped balcony/IV for a small nominal fee (e.g., $ 70 pp) if AQ cabins are available. This would be an upgrade, not a repricing for a higher level cabin, and does not include AI if the comp room does not include AI. I am not aware that it is possible to "upgrade" to a suite from a balcony/IV/Aqua cabin, in the traditional sense where "upgrade" means that it is free or almost free. To get to a suite, as kwokpot said, it is a repricing to a BCC discounted rate, which could be a significant discount depending on the existing offers. I suppose if one is a huge gambler that bets many thousands per hand for four hours a day maybe a free suite offer would be possible, but I am not such a player. That is incorrect, they no longer offer that program. I had specifically asked about that for the current Edge cruise I'm on right now (writing this on my cellphone poolside) and it was explained by MULTIPLE BCC reps that that program ended about 2 years ago, so probably now during the restart you will not find this upgrade program;it USED TO EXIST, but is no longer available. Continuing to bring up this old upgrade program only causes confusion.

Just upgraded a BCC comped veranda cabin , 7 nights on the Reflection, to AC for a whopping $140 total, $70 PP It was booked on a fairly recent offer.less than a year ago i believe. Many reps, be it BC or regular Celebrity are fairly new to the game and often give inaccurate info. If I don't get the desired response , I always call again at a later date. Just went through this type of issues with Celebrity Air on my upcoming cruise, and it took multiple calls to straighten out.....due to bad info given over the phone. Either way Happy to back cruising!

Either way Happy to back cruising! I had tried for 3 months to do exactly what you say you did and was repeatedly told they no longer offer that program. It probably spoke to 10 different agents over the course of 3 months. The last agent I spoke to was 6 weeks ago and again was told they no longer offer this program. This is on a sailing where there is 990 passengers and there are cabins available in all classes, including Retreat and Plenty of Aquaclass. The last agent did take it one step further, doing something no other BCC agent did. She looked at the earned future cruise credit we earned on our last cruise but wasn't applied to a future cruise. She said we had $1800 earned future cruise credit and if we applied it to the requested aquaclass upgrade it would only cost $120 extra, which would also have always included. And that's what we did. The agent specifically said that $70 upgrade program is no longer in effect.

kwokpot Posted November 4, 2021 #33 Share Posted November 4, 2021 This thread and the responses shows how annoying Blue Chip Club is. None of the other cruise line casino programs are so convoluted and inconsistent. Regarding my request for an Aquaclass upgrade from a comped cabin the BCC rep.kbew exactly what I was asking for. She did not say that it wasn't available for my cruise or anything to that effect but she specifically explained that BCC no longer gets cabin allotments where they can offer that upgrade for a nominal fee. In our case it worked to our benefit since we have always included in our upgrade but that's only because we had unused BCC earned FCC that was applied to the repriced cabin. BCC has to do better. They can't be running a casino loyalty program where there aren't consistent rules and it's dependent on who you talk to when you call. That's rediculous and not a way to run a business. Here we have a discussion thread debating the features and benefits of the program where some people get one benefit while another doesn't and it has nothing to do with your status.

I believe that I was fortunate enough to get an agent who was willing to go to management for approval. As I stated earlier, I also was told no a few times, but somehow lucked out. After my AC upgrade, i asked well how about a suite? and the price they came back with was nuts.....made no sense to upgrade.

Over a year ago, I received a cruise offer from a land casino, so I called to make a reservation. I spoke to Rep A, told them I'd think about it and call back. I spoke to Rep B who told me something completely different. I than spoke to Rep C who claimed to be an expert on the specific casino I was booking from. We booked through her, only to get a callback a few hours later that she had screwed something up and we needed to either pay significantly more or rebook. We hesitated, and decided to book a different itinerary with Rep D. Which went fine until they cancelled the cruise and we had almost the exact same scenario with the new cruise. Even just getting a price adjustment on our cabin, Rep A said prices had gone up, Rep B saved us ~$1400, Rep C fixed the errors Rep B had made. FastandFurious Posted November 4, 2021 #37 Share Posted November 4, 2021 I believe BCC is actually based upon the game of craps. Sometimes you role the number/point and other times a 7 out. Or sometimes the dice end up on the casino floor. BTW with a comped Concierge cabin paid $40pp ( 4 night cruise ) to move to a nice stern facing ( M class ) C1 cabin. Congrats to the cruiser who moved up from a comped cabin. Not enamored with AC so only have experience with other classes eg. CC and Veranda. For an Edge cruise in January took a comped CC. Called the other day and for the heck of it asked for the cost of a SS. Response:$3K+ . No Thanxs . I’ve tried for a long time with no luck to move up from a comped cabin. I’m a Sapphire. Cheers. Rare Fly and Sail Posted November 29, 2021 #38 Share Posted November 29, 2021 I'm on the Edge out of FLL during NYE and totally forgot to ask about upgrading. That being said the listed price for my cabin is $4340 for Veranda and $4699 for concierge. I have a great Veranda cabin as per the agent and it's completely comped. The upgrade would basically be for a few extra points, Probably not worth even the call since Concierge is pretty useless. The next up (Aqua) jumps to $6,260. No move up offered. Rare NutsAboutGolf Posted July 28, 2023 #45 Share Posted July 28, 2023 Specifically with BCC fully comped base fare sailings, you have to email the move up team your booking number for them to activate it
Rare Fly and Sail Posted July 29, 2023 #46 Share Posted July 29, 2023 With BCC you can call them 7 different times, and you'll get 10 different answers. Illsticktocrusing Posted July 29, 2023 #50 Share Posted July 29, 2023 My Last cruise on Apex was a comp room but I paid to upgrade. I did not receive an option to place a bid within the alloted time frame, less than 21-days I contacted the Move-up email address mentioning I could not place a bid. Within an hour I was able to place a bid ( received an email response 5-days later telling me that they see my reservation could place bids.
