Orlando airport to Port Canaveral

We are sailing on the 20th on the mariner.   One person in our party is flying to Orlando the morning of the 20th. How will they get to the port?

 

Also on these 5 day cruises are there still "dressy" nights? (what back in the day might have been formal night)

My advice is to go in a day early and rent a car at the airport see some sights and turn the car in at the port area, make sure the rental car places have a shuttle to the port.

only problem is that this person has to work that friday, so they are either flying late the night before or that morning. They are also under the age of 25.

That is why i was asking about the shuttle.

Another vote for Cortrans.  We have used them multiple times.  They are very reliable with safe drivers and clean vehicles.  We have used another highly recommended service and the driver drove like he was playing frogger the whole ride to the airport, staff at the port bypassed our group of two to put a larger group on and made us wait and then put us on a shuttle that then went to other pier to load.  We will stick with Cortrans!

If they are flying in the day of the cruise and travelling solo just bite the bullet and let them ride the cruise line bus - yes it will cost more but it's simple, and someone from the cruise line will meet them in baggage claim and point them to the bus.

This...which I usually never would agree with but with the circumstances the OP has this would be the best option.

how does hte cruise line bus work?  To be honest we have always driven since we live in GA. Do they set it up with RC?

 

Also does anyone know if they still have "formal" nights at all on these 5 day cruises.  Need to know how many nice dresses to pack.

You must book the cruise ship transfers directly with your cruiseline.

Usually in the luggage pickup area after your flight there will be a staff member holding an RCI sign. They will have your name on their list and will direct you to the waiting area to board the bus....or directly onto to the bus if they are already loading. Give you luggage to the bus driver and he will load it on.

 

Don't worry about "dresses" cruising is becoming very casual...wear what you want.
