So now we'll have to turn down our own bed removing the heavy cover & storing it under the bed. 😡 Cleaning the room & bathroom isn't that upsetting as we keep it clean most times anyway.

I view this elimination of service not requiring any additional tip for the room steward.

We asked for evening turndown service on the CB and it was done every night. They replenished towels and removed used ones, the bathroom was tidied and the bed was readied for sleeping with the paper Patter we requested plus any other necessary info (the port requirements at St. Kitts, for example) placed on the end of the bed. It was lovely.

Great !

That sounds just like the old days.

I received the coupon email about 3 weeks prior.

Lots of port day discounts.

Some shop coupons

Casino $10 freeplay when you spend $20

We used the 10% off second excursion (saved 16 bucks)

Just got our coupon book for the January 2 cruise.

Note that all of the (pretty much worthless) coupons expire Dec. 31 st. LOL

Try and see if they'll take them.

You never know. 😉

The only ones we'll even attempt to use are for the free charms and charm bracelets for the 6 and 8 year olds traveling with us.

BTW - it was an email, not the actual books like we used to get.

Looks like you'll have to print the coupons you want or show it to the receptionist at the desk for the BOGO meal.

I did print them.

There is NO BOGO meal.

The coupon is for a free bottle of the "wine of the day" with specialty dining reservations on embarkation night only.

Which translates to a random selection of the lowest price bottle.  I am sure I want something better with my (supposedly) premium steak.  I usually bring my own anyway.  But I guess someone could use it.

I presume there is no more $20 BJ tournament coupon free with buying another $20 entry ticket?

I won't be sweating losing anymore from my bookings if I need to re-fare to a better offer.

I'm on the CB Jan. 2 for my first Princess cruise ever.  What's so great about the Sanctuary?  I must be missing something.  It looks like there is little to no shade.  And I can get food/drinks delivered anywhere on the ship to anyplace I'm sitting/lounging, right?  I have a balcony cabin...maybe people with inside rooms book the Sanctuary?  What's the attraction?  TIA

Originally the Sanctuary was a place of relative quiet away from the hustle and bustle around the swimming pool areas. It also had nice thick cushions on the loungers.

When you make a reservation, you pick a lounger and can pick one in a sunny or shady location (while supply lasts).

So how does that work when on board? You bring your laptop with you around the ship and show a coupon as necessary?

Not having a physical booklet removes two of the best benefits of the coupon book:

a) Help stabilize a table or chair with uneven legs.

b) Help prop open the door to the cabin in order to get a stronger WIFI signal.

The only casino coupon is for $10 in casino free play when you spend $20..

The only loss for us by not getting the old coupon book is that the  coupons were a convenient size for bookmarks..

That was the only coupon worth anything. 😪

I guess they have enough business that they no longer need to advertise BOGO meals.

It's surprising since the restaurant was never really that crowded the first night.

Which is why they offered full suite passengers a free specialty restaurant meal the first evening as a "replacement" perk for removing free Internet as a suite perk.

I'll bet it's even emptier now that they discontinued the coupon.

There has been a history of Princess eliminating coupons that actually were of any value to a customer. The BOGO specialty restaurant first evening coupon is just the latest in a number of useful coupons that have disappeared over recent  years.

But I bet (without seeing the current "booklet") that coupons such as the following from past booklets still exist:

o Save $200 on your EFFY purchase of $2,000 or more.

o Save an extra 10% off your purchase of any H.J. Namdar Diamand Collection of 2000 or more.

For sure, they would never leave those coupons out.😉

In the coupon book expiring 12/31/2021 sent to us this week for our cruise beginning 1/2/2022:

Effy Coupons:

  • $100 any Effy diamond jewelry purchase (no minimum necessary)
  • Princess Sun & Sea Earring & Pendant Set $2330 ($5990 value)

Once again, my record of never stepping foot into a Princess jewelry will remain intact!

It might be helpful to others if one of you started a new thread about the coupon book. It's a bit buried in here.

Not complaining, just a suggestion.

I think I agree .  I was hoping in this thread to hear more about the ship and the cruise as we’re doing this cruise in January and quite frankly couldn’t care less about a coupon book (sorry)

I think on this cruise, our cruise, people were having difficulty posting to CC from their phones or tablets. I was only able to post from my laptop which I hadn't planned to bring, but I had some work to finish on the plane down.

So, glad to see geoherb was able to do food and Patter photos on his. I'm still checking in here if anyone has questions about the Eastern experience.
