Royal's ships 2023/24

For the last few days my partner has been keen on booking us on a 3 night P&O cruise from Brisbane next month on line with no luck.

Today we were walking past the Captain’s Travel Agent at a Brisbane Shopping Centre and the lady told us P&O is running at very full capacity from Brisbane during Winter. Particularly the short ones.

So maybe Gavin could leave Voyager in Brisbane for Winter 2026.

I would guess Voyager will go to Singapore but wouldn’t it be good to have a ship over winter.

Thanks Chilli.

Never been to Seward.

I just thought the market never warranted a larger ship to Seward.

I like the comment of a unusual 30 year commitment.
Probably expanding the market and phasing Radiance class out.

But the ships will have to go somewhere in the northern winter.

Does this mean 4 Quantum ships in Alaska now?
The Railroad will want increased passengers numbers in return.

Well there’s talk of the Panama Canal limiting traffic because of drought caused by global warming.

Mexico is upgrading there rail and ports system to compensate for the reduced traffic.

Maybe we will see 4 Quantum in Alaska but where would they all go during the northern winter ?

Los Angeles. Singapore and 2 for Oz I assume Chilli.
An Oasis Class would probably have to replace one in China.

Tier for tier match across the 3 brands .

Theres rumours Celebrity might bring in the drinks vouchers and get rid of that happy hour . Also more free coffees on Celebrity to make up for the coffee machine in the crown lounge.

If anyone wants to try Celebrity Edge but has been scared at the prices .

Theres a unusually cheap cruise on the 25 of March next year to Cairns.

11 nights for 2 in a balcony for about $240 a night each and interior for $170 a night.

A beautiful ship ,better than a 5 star hotel. They might have the drink vouchers by then.

Thanks Chili, just put a hold on this cruise. So disappointed with Royal Caribbean at the moment, but this one looks ok. Pity about Yorkeys Knob though, but might work. Drinks vouchers would be good, but being Elite Plus (as stated above) another bonus.

Good find Chill. I'd been looking for a good price Celebrity cruise to try it out - we had one booked for 2021 that didn’t happen.

Unfortunately can’t do this one as already booked on Ovation to NZ at that time. It will get us to D+ on RC, so Elite+ on Celebrity on the new match deal

I was thinking about you with that cruise.

If it was docked in Cairns , I would be on it in a flash.

Piraues Cruise Schedule was updated by Greece Ports 15 May and Voyager is still showing here in November and December 2025.

I still cannot find Radiance anywhere.

Serenade still shows in the Caribbean for this period.

So is Athens listing right or wrong?

Radiance and Serenade not going on sale yet certainly increases the odds Royal cruisers from Brisbane will not have a Ice Skating Rink onboard 25/25 season.

Thanks Chili. Docking at Yorkeys is why I only put it on hold, I will just think about it over the weekend. I did book a Cunard cruise for November today. $2200 for a balcony and docks in Cairns.

i am so disappointed with Royal at the moment. We need a ship that can dock in places I.e. Vila, not at container terminal in Auckland. I know Voyager can dock but from Brisbane.Their  itineraries all the same. First time in a long time, I don’t think we will be considering Royal this cruise season.

Have you thought about Royal swapping Radiance for Voyager in Brisbane?

Normally I would put this down to a clerical error.

But Yes it is certainly an option Voyager not coming to Brisbane.

The Suez Canal situation doesn’t help either.

Having 2 Radiance Class ships in the Pacific without schedules after Alaska 2025 certainly now to me has me thinking Radiance Class in Brisbane is an option.
Time will tell!

The trouble in the Suez isn’t going away ,it’s been going on forever.

Voyager could turn around and melt into the Caribbean itineraries.

Radiance could pick up voyagers itinerary after a repo from Alaska to Japan.

Time will tell.

Doing a bit of research on the affects of the troubles in the Middle East and if may affect Voyagers repositioning to Brisbane.

There were 6 attacks on ships last week alone, one was an Australian shipment of grain to Iran .It was just around Dubai , Even Dubai is a no go now .

Most shipping is going around Africa and it’s costing about an extra $1,000,000 in fuel  and 3 weeks or more in time .

Apparently fuel is a bit of a problem and what fuel there is costs a fortune.

If things don’t improve in the next 4 months , I think we might have a change in ships.

Heres a screenshot of the main shipping from Singapore to Europe ,just about nothing is going through the Suez Canal.

Hi Chilli

Serenade March/April 2025

Radiance was in dry dock last month in Freeport.

Jewel is in dry dock in Brest France now.

( Limited internet up here for work on the Frazer Coast ATM)

Someone on the blog recons that Next cruise told them ,Serenade is supposed to be coming to Australia for the 25-26 season.

That could work in with the dry dock if it happens.

As you know Chilli I have been thinking this also since Voyager bookings went live.
Did they say if it was replacing Voyager?

No details but I’m booked on Voyager repo and the cruise planner has nothing available .
