We were on the November 6, Emerald cruise. I didn't notice anyone ignoring the rule. There were a few unpleasant passengers who grumbled about it, but they wore their masks.

There were 3 occasions when I forgot my mask in my cabin. On one occasion, a fellow passenger, passing me in the hall said  'oops, did you forget your mask?' I thanked her and went back to get a mask. On the other two, I made it to my destination, ran into officers in the Piazza and on the Lido, and they politely asked me to put on a mask. On another occasion, I heard the Lido bartender ask a passenger to wear a mask at the bar.

On one occasion I forgot my mask as I was entering the dining room, another on entering the Princess Theater. Both times, I was quickly provided a mask by a staff member without having to return to my cabin.

One thing that really didn't make sense to me, is that they enforce the mask rule, but allow smoking in the casino.  It really is hard to breathe in that space so we didn't spend much time there.

The Lido bar is outside - Are you saying a bartender made a passenger wear a mask outside?

My wife and I are fully vaccinated and recently received the booster shot. We will follow the masking rules except while having a drink in lounges that offer the ability to social distance. Crooners, Wheelhouse, etc. Anytime we cannot social distance they will be on.

But if we are 6 feet from fellow passengers and have a drink with us, we will not "Sip and Cover" as it makes no sense nor places others at risk (That is a medical fact)

Let the flaming begin,..........

On Emerald,  passengers removed their masks while seated at  tables in restaurants and bars. In the theater, there was a pre-show announcement to sip and cover. There was limited beverage service and the shows were poorly attended so social distancing was possible. Those with drinks did not sip and cover.

Yes. The passenger wasn't seated at the bar. He was placing an order and the bartender told him to put on a mask.  And those queuing for food on the lido also wore masks.

Wow - It was my understanding that masks were not required outdoors......

I thought it was odd. There really is no need to go to the bar, the servers usually beat us to our seats to take orders and they came back frequently.
Overall, the mask policy wasn't daunting, but that one incident stuck out.

Inevitably, things will be handled differently on different ships by different crews. On our trip on the Sky, I well remember the day we hit Princess Cays. About 50 of us were standing on Deck 4 crammed in shoulder to shoulder waiting to get on the tenders. Every one of us was masked save for one tall gentleman standing defiantly in the middle of the crowd without a mask. I saw him laughing and joking with a middle level ship's officer, who made absolutely no effort to get him to mask up despite the very tight confines we were all in. I also occasionally, at least once or twice a day, saw people exiting or entering elevators without masks as well.

We are on Caribbean Princess January 23.  Hope they change the mask policy before then.  I didn’t get vaccinated so I would have to keep wearing masks the rest of our lives 😡

Check out the Health FAQs on the Princess website.  Princess extended their  health protocols until 31 March 2022.  Masks will be required and length of cruise will determine exactly what is required.
